   Perhaps you know how boring it is if you discover some ores or ematters and can't reach them with your extractor:(:(:(
   If you have the chance to climb somewhere above your claim do so. when you are more or less directly above your claim activate the extractor.

   Great advice, Slarty. I did manage to get this to work, after several failed attempts where I fell off the top of the claim marker.
