My AG question thread as I'm sure I'll have a few...

  1. first, are there ground spawns in AG, ie any reason not to run from place to place?

I also wonder how people managed to put stats for the various cyclopses and minotaurs on Entrepedia since you can't use a scanner!

  2. well I just picked up a quantity of caroot, so I guess ground spawn is a yes.

for calculating the health, they just added up the damage it took to kill the creature.

however, for the large cyclops, it's probably not that accurate, as they may regenerate a little.

for the most part, I like ancient greece. I just keep away for the large cyclops that are impossible for a lone person to kill currently.

  4. yeah, I imagine information on the reward for the kill 333 of each named cyclops is a bit scant, since the Entropedia table has the lowest Steropes (slow) starting at 3600 health! I've been on a bit of a campaign of adding missing papoo scanner info to their tables, but AG...no scanner.

As for Entropedia, one of the fields it asks for is the VU of the info? Last update on the front of the launcher is 12.0.1 but the highest VU on the field picker is 12.0.3 or something. What is the current VU? All my loot edits are colored dark red as doubtful since I'm not filling in the current VU or whatever.

(also, is there a corresponding minotaur hunt quest? I had a hard time tracking down NPCs in Thebes as it is lovely but hollow and empty. Never seen so many pretty buildings with unfinished interiors. Crion is regent of a ghost town.)

  5. City (TP) roster, alphabetically

~~Mount Olympus basecamp (TP no amenities surrounded by peevish Brontes Cyclops. Hit the ground running if you are lucky.)
~~Olympia (TP with no amenities but empty decorative buildings.)
~~revive cave(s) (NPC will send you to Thebes, TP will take you anywhere you have got the TP for in AG, NPCs for trade, AG storage, repair and societies.)(fall into pit for Achievement.)
~~Sparta (TP with no amenities but empty decorative buildings.)
~~Syracuse (TP on a barren plain, no amenities. No life on that entire peninsula that I spotted so maybe no real reason to go there currently.)
~~Thebes (Market, repair and trade NPCs, Thebes 2 mission NPCs Crion and the head of the guard, Thebes Ampitheatre)

    (updated as I travel)

I thought I was pretty smart hopping up mountainsides and avoiding tough minos. Now I have to figure out how to get down there...hop hop hop...

posted a new revive cave on the Entrepedia map, I just need to systematically die and maybe I'll find others. Turns out the big cycs around Mt Olympus base camp have a larger aggro radius than the lesser ones...

sometimes, there are "paths" that you can use to climb the mountains. likewise, to get down you can often slide to a lower edge. if you are hurt, you can rest until you slide to the next ledge down. unless it's a sheer face, this usually works. is this what you meant by "hop"?

tracking loots by version number (I think we're 12.0.3, now) isn't really that effective. the only thing that matters is what they're looting now. some people, I suppose, like to know that such-and-such looted a shadow harness five years ago, but I don't see the point.

  8. I found that rapid jumping can get you up slopes just past where you can't walk or even slide up them. For short distances anyway.

yes, that works to help you climb.

  10. I've never heard mention of a Minotaur quest - maybe there will be one, especailly as I can kill lone Minotaur but can't touch any of the quest Cyclops'. Trouble is the Minotaur are more aggressive than the Cyclops tend to gang up on me.

walk slowly and keep your distance?

but, yes. a mid-range mission on minotaurs would be popular, I'd think.

  12. Pulling with aggro, pulling with thrown or fired items, been doing that for years. Have to be aware of the aggro radius...if you're trying to get past a pair and they are spread out, walk right between them (of course around them is preferable but sometimes you are constrained in your movements.) Bigger threat level monsters seem to have a larger aggro radius, just from my limited observation. Tried to get between a pair of higher named cycs to grab the Mt. Olympus Base Camp TP, and one of them chased and mashed me despite them being relatively far apart. Low levels you can get within a few meters.

I discovered a Crystal! Or at least it wasn't in Entropedia.

Dropped off a Cyclops Slow, went to add the drop to the loot table and it wasn't there in the tables to add.

Feels like a global, adding a new material to Entropedia was confusing. Kinda fun! I've been adding data and drops when I can. I just want to be able to use the scanner in AG!!!

  13. Headed back to NI for a while, I can skill defensive skills while naked and sweating with a lot less pain and expense. Next time my skin will be tougher when I only have a toga :)

woohoo! thick skin and a toga!

carrying a sharp blade will help, as well.
