Right, so... I don't seem to be able to post this to the other thread, or at least see it there. So lets see if this works instead ---- Right, so Achelous-hunter extraordinaire Remontoire at your service! It goes like this - you go to Olympia, then take a sword solidly in your hand and swing at the Achelous until its dead. Then repeat some more time until the minotaurian is dead, then collect the loot, including a horn and a tail and you will soon have all the 20 horns and 20 tails that Fair Arachne needs. Of course, it did not actually turn out to be anything like that. For one thing, the Achelous are much more adapt at looting should pauldrons, shin guards, arms and legs and two dozen varieties of crystals than any horns or tails. Quixoticly, they loot far more heads than horns. Unfortunately, no horn removal tools seemed to be findable. For another thing, the bloody sword broke after 4 or 5 Achelous. So did the next sword. More Achelous were clubed to death (literarilly) with some ice clubs, but the damage to the rather high markup death dealing implements from tough Achelous hides had me worried soon, so I went back to the curvacious Amazons in the Theban Market. Had them sharpen my swords, refill herb box with ... well, I guess herbs? and bought another extra SIX falcata and a labrys. And killed more Achelous. And killed even more Achelous. If I had even the remote impression that the horns and tails would be easy to get, it passed easily at a point where I looked back and saw that I had gotten none in the past hour. That there were 3 green dots on radar most of this time did not help and I have to admit to a lot of time spent running vs killing. There seems to be an impression (also reflected in MU) that taisl are much harder to get than horns, but I did not really find this to be the case. You get pretty much same amounts of both. You can get both from the same Achelous. Its not an easy mission, but I think there really should be more of such, including on calypso. After the minotaurian hunting was over and i had the blueprint from Arachne (A blueprint that calls for cloth, but no refiners work in Ancient Greece? Well played, Next Island developers), I went for swimming to get the TP on Crete. The swimming was rather boring, the sea waves are spectacular looking but static, and finally I did arrive on Crete. And suddenly, the swim was totally worth it. The architecture there is fabulous, the palace, even if not actually having the name "Knossos" in it anywhere certainly would be a good take on it. Very authentic looking as well as very beautiful place. Too bad the palace or the houses don't seem to be for sale. After Crete, I went to the Mount Olympos basecamp TP to go to Mount Olympos Peak. had to kill two Brontes there, both no looters something that did not really please me (seriously .. you whack and whack and whack away at a 3600+ hp mob with a ice club ix(l), having to heal yourself up several times with herb box, and then it just gives a yellow line? FU!). The run to the peak itself was a nice puzzle though, and a long run. Once I was there, there was a very good view of all of Greece - or so it seemed - and hints that the one I took is probably not the only way up. What was disappointing though was that there was nothing else - just a stone square with the teleporter. Would really some statues or an altar to the gods have been that hard to add?? Or any other eyecandy?
