Wii owning movie lover: Today is your day! Nintendo is officially supporting Netflix, allowing you to stream movies and TV shows to your television all day. Streaming from Netflix via the Wii console costs nothing extra to Netflix members, and there are hundreds of thousands of movies available for streaming on the service. In order to used the service, Wii owners will have to use a Netflix disc, provided by Nintendo, and have a working, high speed internet connection. Sadly, the highest definition available for Wii owners is 480p, but when you're talking about streaming smoothly, high-def video still doesn't work with many ISPs. The Wii is the third and final major console to allow Netflix streaming. PS3 and 360 owners have been able to watch flicks for awhile already. Personally, I use Netflix streaming on my 360 at least as much as I play game. For me, Netflix and Last FM are the 360's "killer apps." I have to figure that Wii owners, who tend to be a bit more casual than other console owners, will flock to this. But since I already have Netflix on two of my three consoles, I doubt I'll use it on the Wii. What do you think? Nintendo Wii - Nintendo - Netflix - Wii - PlayStation 3 More...
