New conquest cycle coming up!

Since the war is over, lets sit around and reminisce.

In the last days of the war I saw that the combatants were too evenly matched and so turned to espionage in hopes of gaining an advantage in the darkened allys.

The counter-espionage units deployed by Mandy always seemed to be one step ahead of me though. I completely destroyed her spies on 2 different occasions in the last few days, and both times she came back stronger than before much sooner than I expected.

Since that war is now over, would you be willing to share your strategies and maybe even point out where my calculations were wrong?

I had 250+ of the 500gold weapons, and only used my armor as a "storage" for gold untill I wanted to spend it.
Even with marginal armor at best there were times when your army was too weak to attack me, so how did you get the gold to recruit the spys? was it selling off armor and weapons, or is there a way to produce gold that fast without raiding? Was it because of my 20% loss from storing gold in armor and then sellign for spys that you could produce faster? Alot of that time you had more spy expenses per turn than gold production, so I thought with 0 spys I would be able to stock up faster.

by my calculations you had about 600spys the first time i wiped them out, and about that many the second time as well.
after I had taken them down to 0 the second time, you came back and had more than me within less than 24 hours, i had about 400 at that time. thats 20,000gold to be even with me, but you probably had 25,000gold worth of spys since you were winning the battles again. Thats 1000gold an hour, which i could barely manage winning all my raids since I had to sleep and some raids brought in less than 400gold.(and I had to use some to keep the growing populations like rockchick diminished without any gold profits)
