In a recent interview with MMO Fallout Mindark CEO Henrik Nel Jerkrot has announced a graphics update and several new systems to be implemented in 2019. Here's the exact announcement of the graphics update: Source: MMO Fallout Here's the exact announcement of several new systems: Soure: MMO Fallout So the questions is what could that graphics update bring? What new systems could be introduced? Were we really expecting any? Character creation? Over the years there have been several graphics updates, the major ones have also introduced new options for charater definition. Several times we have been given the opportunity to re-do our avatars. Will we get one more? Will there be options like in Black Desert which launched 3 years ago with this character creator: > Fishing system? Could one of the systems be the new fishing system? MindArk's community relations and concept development guy Marco Behrmann had it on the to-do list in 2008 already. And according to Planet Calypso's very own game designer Kim Welter, son of Mindark's majority shareholder and chairman Jan Welter Timkrans, the fishing system was almost finished in 2012 but also according to him in 2013 in experienced a major setback and reversed from almost finished to "on paper only" stage. 6 Years later it might be back to almost finished again. Also according to Tim Welter the original concept was (is?) very different from everything else we know in Entropia Universe. So what could it be like? Here's footage of a contemporary fishing simulator (p.s.: we have review key for this one in case someone wants to write an intro or something): > Mechs? Besides missions, instances and a couple of other systems Mechs were firmly requested by Planet Cyrene, the first planet inside Entropia Universe to be created by passionate MMO gamers and professionals who were aware of what it would take to lift Entropia Universe to another level. The first mechs were shown by Planet Cyrene in 2008, later as concept by Planet Theryon and by Planet Calypso as notorious Kim Welter just had to put a mech model in game and hang around there to show off and claim it's fun to control it, suggesting that the system was already working to some extent in 2011: Planet Cyrene Centurion Mk II Mech: Theryon Wars mech concept: Planet Calypso mech model in game: Premium estates shareholder system? According to the original announcement Crystal Palace Space Station will be transformed into a shareholder model within the next 3 months: Could it be possible that this system will be introduced not only for Crystal Palace but for any land area in Entropia Universe, allowing the owners to sell shares of these estates? What else? What other systems nobody had ever asked for could be introduced while existing essential systems like the society system are rotting around without any updates for a decade or so and a bunch of others have been introduced half-heartedly lagging far behind today's industry standards as well as Mindark's original announcements and have been completely neglected since their first implementation? .
Society updates have been announced in the AMA. Graphics updates, I think updates of textures, nothing more. This vu had a lot of those.
And please forgive my terrible rendition of Russian constructivism, maybe someone in command of Russian can at least confirm that the grammar is not too much off :)
Some years ago, mindark designers had so much nothing to do that mindark asked them to redo and redo the whole icons like 4 or 5 times. New graphic update schedulled in 2019 : new icons !... Btw, remember we should be today in VU 15. Yes, mindark are such silly people, they jumped from VU 12 to VU 14 = no VU 13 lol pathetic guys.
They will introduce two new teleports: 1) the Teleport of Deportation. Cost: 2500 peds Function: avatar is exiled to a random planet and is trapped there, unable to leave for 12 months. At the end of the Period of Exile the deported avatar will receive a 20% increase in all skills and attributes plus a special Inter-Galactic Uniform. This move is aimed at increasing activity on other planets. 2) The Teleport of Doom. Cost: 10000 peds Function: The avatar has a 50/50 chance of either doubling all his/her skills and attributes or being reduced to zero skills and attributes. I think, if they do anything, given recent events, it will likely be improvements to character animation.
