  1. Thanks Amber, yes I look after my family when they need help.
She will be moving in for a year until her operations (Not finished yet, still in hospital) heal.

Losing the king size bed is not a big drama, though I do like that bed ... A LOT :D

  2. *sigh* After 5 hours straight configuring IOS CLI commands and 3 hours of a CCNE (Certified Cisco Network Engineer) doing the same to setup VPNs, the new cisco router decided to die on me .... lol

Not a lot I can say about that except that I am a very unhappy camper. :unhappy:

I have decided to return the product and have asked for a refund ... pending.

In the meantime, due to the mental strain of setting up a cisco through CLI commands I have decided this is not for me. I will now be going for a AVM Fritz system :)

Much easier to setup and almost as power packed, not to mention I save a few hundred dollars in doing so

  3. Good news, the credit on the Cisco was approved. I should have the fritz system by the end of the week

  4. FINALLY! It has arrived, now to unpack and spend the day reading 3 manuals from cover to cover lol :devilish:

  5. Well today was not a successful day.

After trying to connect at G992.5 Annex A (ADSL2+) I find my service is still running G992.1 Annex A (ADSL1)

An error on my service providers part, after calling them as to why I was connected at ADSL1 they said it must have been an entry error upon provisioning the new service.

Not to worry, it is all worked out now, they will have the service upgraded to ADSL2+ 20Mbit by the 13th :)

Unfortunately the FritzBox 7390 being the higher spec model only supports ADSL2+ G922.5 Annex A and VDSL 100Mbit. They are intending to support ADSL-1 in their next firmware release.

Fritz Tech Support rocks, they port it via VoIP to their main tech support centre and are really on the ball.

  6. Well I must say I am impressed, my ISP rang me up and said we are ready to rock and roll on ADSL2+

The FritzBox is now configured and does everything for the household. Broadband, Telephony & Wireless

Now to lookup the functions for make & serve breakfast, lunch and dinner :skip:
