Hello Cyrus, and welcome to EP ... nice to have you here. Thank you for your kind words, because they are definitely reciprocated knowing the caliber of staff that Dave has assembled for this mission. The Arkadia team is the A-Team, and we just love it when a plan comes together.

It's quite obvious that a great deal of think-tanking and brainstorming went into this project, and so far, the results are very impressive. If you're lookin' this good on announcement day, then I am confident that what you will deliver on THE day will be just as exceptional.

What makes this stand out for me ... is that Dave is a long-term member of our Entropian society, he understands the game as a player, and all those intricate details that are so crucial ... especially when it comes to building a supportive relationship with the community. His reputation speaks for itself, and even knowing him for as long as I have (including the couples Who's Who I did on him and his lovely wife Missa), this came as a real surprise, but one I absolutely jumped for joy over.

I have had communication with you too Cyrus since the announcement, and I couldn't be happier with the professionalism and supportive manner with which you have treated members of the E-Team, as well as offering assistance to the Media Team to support your efforts to promote Arkadia.

I can make this statement now as Manager of the Media Team, that this community has a great deal to look forward to as it relates to Planet Arkadia. There will be front page and magazine articles, as well as exclusive interviews posted at this forum only, other than a teaser thread posted at the Arkadia forum alerting members there. Stay tuned, because the first effort of information flow will be hitting our front page soon.

This is going to be good.

Sitting in Holland but still wanted to say welcome to you to EP. Peter/admin got your mail, and will see if he can get access later today and fix a few things for you :)

We are doing whatever is in our power here on EP to promote the Universe, and personally both Peter and I was extremely thrilled when finding out about this new Planet!

The E-Team is and will be constantly be working on improving EP and provide the Universe with news and information - And as MindStar said, we have a couple of Esses up our sleves, which we will use ;) I am already playing with a couple of ideas - also for the Magazine :D And as you can see the E-Team works like one big brain here lol

We are also very open towards suggestions and ideas from you guys (this goes for ALL planet partners) - are there anything you wish us to help you out with, and if it's possible - we will :) Just pm or mail us.

I echo what the BossLady says ... you are definitely in good hands. She's not kidding when she says that we work like one big brain here ... that's how closely connected and in sync we are, and how smooth our brainstorming is, it's truly amazing. It's an absolute pleasure working under the leadership of Lykke and Peter - they are professional and not only care about the staff and this community, they also know how to show it.

We have just one big love fest going on here, don't we. No really, I love the E-Team, and I can't speak more highly of them.

Really exciting to see this thread. The website is just bookmarked ... ofc.

This announcement fills my brain with wild dreams, remembering all the years in the past I spent together with my old mate Lara Croft, running and climbing through ancient ruins and tombs, fighting against a dreadful enviroment and dangerous monsters.

But the very best of Ozi's post was this:

"Planet Arkadia is set to launch within the first half of 2011."

Man, I can't wait to set my foot on Arkadia's surface! A new planet created by an experianced and wellknown colonist of Calypso! I still can't believe it - lol!

Agree completely Jamira, looking very much forward to this venture. The timeline of how much they have accomplished is impressive more than anything right now, not so much because of the work involved as that it shows the dedication to just getting it done (and player run so done right for fellow players). He seems to have enough of the right ingredients in both areas.

A friend and I started work on building a planet about 2 and a half years ago, (mostly the friend with all the coding as my part has been limited due to funding for software so far, but will include 'everything else' etc when the time comes), and I'm astonished at what has been accomplished so far in the world building by a one man team basically in spare time in that time period. Taking that example, I can see how much can be done in the time since MA opened up to planet partners IF you had a dedicated and professional team plus committment, funding and the right attitude and ideas, and it appears Ozi had all of that and so I expect we will all benefit very much and have a great new place to play and work in Arkadia I don't know, just intuition really tells me this is the best one yet, from the way it has all been handled before it was ever even announced.

Very excited and looking forward to this, and behind the Arkadia team all the way.

*note, the world I mentioned was never intended to be in Entropia, uses a different but similiar graphic quality engine. I only mentioned it as a reference point that forms my views on what planet partners can and have (or should have but didn't really lol) achieved so far.

 

In the end Arkadia will be a planet partner like RT. Wich means: loot is controlled and distributed by MA's system. Probably there are a few peeps out there who love RT. I don't. But that is a task of personal taste. The few infos I've got about Arkadia made me bow-taut.

Hey Lykke, thanks for saying hello while you're still in Holland. It just show how much you care for the community and I'm glad to be able work with this closely-knitted family. I'm just as excited after having to contain my urge to spread the news to fellow entropians for months and wondering what reaction the community will have when we announce. Right now, all the preparations for the announcement seem to be reaping its rewards. I for one, is feeling much, much relieved now. :) I'm also feeling the love fest here MS9. Hahahaha.

Good luck Oz, but I have to second Oleg.

As much as I long for more/better worlds, I don't see the experience improving unless MA removes their ass hats and cut the cost to play and allows for people to play/loot which in turn will improve the overall in game economy. Basic economics that MA is oblivious to, cut taxes, allow for more spending and growth, increase revenues.

But wish the best for you and us any way.

 

Looked at the website... its a bit too "artsy" for my tastes, but thats okay for a pure PR site.

Well you see their fixes in action, how's that working for you?


I see decreasing player base, decreasing loots, increasing costs.

Do some research, check history, each time taxes (costs) have been reduced, the ultimate effect has been increased revenue since there is expansion and growth. I don't need to give lessons though, if one has their eyes open they can see it all around.

Crash happens when people that don't have a clue get in the way and throw their rules in the mix.

but seeing you have a us flag, we can never agree on that topic anyway so lets just leave it :)

now back to arkadia:
