One of my connections on LinkedIn (Thanks Brian!) had an update listed about a new search engine. He stated it was founded by Mark Zuckerberg (the FaceBook founder), but I could not find anything that proved as such. However, one of the founders of former search engine giant AltaVista (anyone who participated on the Internet in its early days will remember good ole Alta) _is_ involved. In any case, it's a new search engine called QWiki, and it has a refreshing new way to find information based on your search terms. Brian recommended looking for a famous person, so I looked for Leonardo DaVinci, and I have to admit, it's definitly cool. It retrieves (on first sight) a basic piece of information (if I am not mistaking, typically snippets from a Wikipedia introduction), and a computer-voice will "read out" the text for you, while related images are shown. I took a bit of time to look up (I was about to write "Googled" there) some Entropia-related terms, such as Entropia Universe, MindArk, and NEVERDIE. The voice sounds a bit clunky at times when dealing with capitalized words (PED, NEVERDIE), but then again, the product is still in Alpha stage. To check for yourself what it's all about, head on over to Qwiki.
