Ok, the rant part. Now, seriously MA, are you totally nuts? Ok, you can't resist the terrible urge to monetarise space since you don't need to share the space revenues with annoying planet partners. But space creatures? You know, space is practically a kind of vacuum (that's means there's almost nothing in there), the temperature is about minus 270° C and such. Not exactly a prime example for a really enjoyable habitat... Is it actually that hard to create something imaginable? This is not a crazy B-Movie, or is it? The genre is Science Fiction, not Ridiculous Fiction. We know already, consistency in settings and storytelling are not really your strengths, but seriously... a five-year-old could probably come up with more imaginable threats in space. Why actually scare away people that do pay attention to elaborated, imaginable settings when at the same time it would not cost a PEC more to attract them. I don't get it.
I actually don't mind the addition of space creatures. It ensures some value is added to space, other than just a travelling risk. I'm guessing that when Theryon Wars launches, space will become a lot more tricky than it is now :)
This is going to be some interesting times as the new planets come online.. With new mobs, in the mix, I think it may just be more fun to fly through space!!
and all with the added fun of some craphat looting you for everything you carry once you are finished hunting all these lovely new creatures for the day....
Hi, curious where they'll be placed. Would be fun if some of them at least would be found inside enlarged safe zones around planets or stations. This could be a nice opportunity for some "combat training for space dummies" (like me) :) What I wouldn't like at all would be roaming space critters - traveling to other planets is this deadly boring, I bet that most ppl will do their housework while crouching through space, or showers, or dumps, or whatever. Wouldn't be exactly fun to have the added danger (additionally to the random pirate) to get eaten by some hungry critter during afk travel ... Anyways, this doesn't add any incentive for me to go to space. (Memo to myself: Scrap the rust from your Quad again!) The current space system doesn't suit my needs at all, for me it's just an annoying hindrance when wanting to visit another planet. Unnecessarily evil. What I'd like to see: Greatly enlarged safe zones (no pvp) around each planet at least, with smaller space mobs at defined spawns. A kind of training grounds, where space-newbies can safely learn to maneuver, and to fight in space. They'd be more easily willing then to try the "deep space PvP" ... . A kind of "special warp" feature: As soon as you are to leave a safe zone, you'll be asked what to do - just leave, or use the "special warp" to another safe zone. This would have a fixed price (10 PED?) plus a "cargo fee", a percentage of the the stackables carried (20% ?). This way the lootable PvP would become optional again, without completely abandoning the separation between the planet economies. . The need to carry stackables themselves for pirates - a pirate could only loot the value of stackables she itself has on board. This would be an equal risk then, and a more fair game. But we will not get such, quite sure. As long as not some angry looted victim sues MA for "aid to organized crime". Or until some authorities recognize what a perfect tool this could be for money laundering ... Far fetched, for sure. But not impossible. Anyways, space seems not to be made for me. Have a good time! PS: I had loved to see robot space probes as space mobs - this would have made sense IMHO. But who knows, maybe they actually are? Do we know about the progress in biomechanics those nasty tin cans on Akbal-Cimi have reached meanwhile?
Maybe Entropia Universe don't have the same laws of phisics like the real universe. Or maybe like there are creatures deep in the oceans, there are creature in deep space too. Able to survive cold temperatures and vacuum.
This is going to make space even more expensive to go through and something tells me that they will be very hard mobs and will need heaps of ammo to get the better of them. Robot spacecraft would have made more sense though imho.
Well we could have space bots, temperature resitant arn't they? Leave it to MA, they will take a miner bot and strap a thruster to it, you just wait and see. lol
Space mobs.... well, one COULD argue that MA are being original as space mobs is a pretty unusual idea. I appreciate its a little far fetched but hey its a fun idea and besides. I think we know so little about life and what it can actually exist as, who are we to say No space mobs? Or I could say "if its good enough for Farscape its good enough for me" ;) I'd like to see space somehow scaled down a little - not sure how but yeh I'd like to be able to go hunting in space without needing mega artiliary skills or spending a ped a shot. Its not right that its only for the ubers... What I hope they will introduce will be more things like some sorta asteroid mining. I want to see a space suit of some kind and rocket thrusters/backpack for EVA stuff. I like the idea also of there being asteroids we can maybe land on/explore on "foot" with a space suit where we die if we remove it/parts of it. Maybe these have asteroid mobs? Would be fun if jump allowed us to jump 4 metres cause of low gravity ;)
Considering we have no idea whatsoever about how non-Earth life may look (if it exists, which it should) and some experts even entertain the idea of life being possible inside stars... I'd say it is not too far-fetched :) That said, the only of those designs I actually kinda like is the second one and maybe the first one... I want to see more thick (collideable) asteroid belts as creature habitats, more actual stuff in space (black hole somewhere?) and of course, they should add robot spaceships :)
Yeah you guys have convinced me I'm pretty sure now when scientists find space creatures they are going to look like those.
Very true! Creatures could exist in space, say inside one of those gaseous nebulas (hell knows if that's spelt right). They could suck in ionized H and....
gives a whole new meaning to "digging for gold" eh? Just some first impressions... 1st one looks like someone folded a fly in half 2nd one looks like a live cockle or muscle cleaning itself 3rd one looks like an organic version of the ship from Elite 2: Frontier 4th one looks like someone pulled the front 4 legs of a cockroach
Hi, whatever they are and where ever they are placed, no idea. As long as they are in safe zones it'd be a major incentive for new players to try space at all. As long they are in pure Pvp space it'd be useless, traveling traders (or space mob hunters, often hurt already) would have much better loot. Got it? Have a good time!
