From our first Newislander guides: Hello there! Can you hear me? Oh, sorry to yell so loudly, sometimes Newlanders are a bit deaf when coming out of the Teleporter. Don’t worry though, the effects wear off after awhile…How do you do? My name is Arthur and it’s my job to greet Newlanders and help them settle into our island ways.These text-and-image guides are presented from the perspective of Arthur Sorensen, a First Wave explorer and the first NPC a new player will encounter on Next Island. Having Arthur introduce the first missions in-world and out-of-game made creative sense to us all, and I sort of love his antisocial charm. We’re also beginning to add profession tutorials to the site as well. So far, we have healing, mining, and the first crafting track, carpentry. Helen Venture, the spirited Island adventuress and the narrator for these guides, will continue to share her expertise. These text-and-image tutorials will eventually be supplementary to in-game, interactive tutorials, but they’re a move towards our overall goals to make Entropia activities more accessible to new players, and to introduce more of the characters and story that make our world exciting.
