Ok, so the backstory link finally worked for me today, and i was shocked with what i found Elysium Ability Assessment Now, what can we see here? Firstly, theres the famous stairs from new port atlantis, leading to a platform above like port atlantis, similar archtecture etc, ok fine, similar design is mildly acceptable, still pretty lazy and lame because its not original, but could be built by the same builders, so forgivable. In the background however, you can see the famous old pa walls, that are now a very strong point in calypso's ongoing history, the last remaining part from the destruction typhoon caused, which really forms the icing on the cake here that begins to take the piss, theres no valid excuse to rip pa off right down to a historic feature that can only exsist in one place in the universe. What i would love to know, is why did you feel the need to throw being original out the window, and rip off one of the oldest planets in entropia most of the playerbase has nostalgic and sentimental ties to? How can you have any hope of this planet lasting if you just rip off bigger, better and more successfull planets in the universe? Im going to assume somehow you managed to get permission to do so, but, why would you want to? What kind of dev team do you have now that means you have to resort to this? How many, and what skills do they have? Personally this place started out with some promise, but it seems day by day you just find more and more ways to ensure this planet becomes the first failed planet in entropia, lets be honest, your close to it now, people only really visiting atm to get the attributes before you remove the missions. Stuff like this really isnt good for entropia as a whole and its platform, do you guys even know what your doing? Prior to this post did you even know you had ripped off one of the most famous citys in entropia? The only lasting good i can see this place has acieved is helping mindark figure out how to launch a planet fully in one release, leading to the success that is arkadia. Doubt ill get a response from someone in charge, but i just felt at the least i needed to express my view. Best Regards, Stave Petty Calypso Desert Rangers
I thought it looked like PA but now that you mention the stairs and the wall! Guess we will have to see when the update comes before judging further. I was going to say maybe they just staged a photo there, but I also see the metal flower thingy too. :dynamic:
The plants, boxes and the shape of the wall is diffrent too. Oh and the floor If they dare, i really would like someone from the NI team to give us in insight to why...
I cant seem to view the page you linked too, and google cach doesn't seem to do any better for me. narfi
Ya it did look a bit like PA to me, oh well, I don't really care what it looks like so long as the June update makes NI into the thriving planet it should. Heck they come through on this update and they can make the stairs out of dung for all I care :)
Has there been an update anywhere about the Big Update? According to old post's it was supposed to happen Mid June. With Mid June coming up next week, I would think there would be more news and some kind f update/countdown getting players excited about the launch? A good example is Arkadia. Granted Meg has been giving us a few tidbits, but by now I would expect that there should be a whole lot of buzz around the update. It doesn't leave a good feeling in my stomach when we are this late in the game and so close to the proposed launch and there is no big updates. Should we be expecting a delay?
From the Next Island Life home page, under the Quests After June posted by Meg, Agis commented yesterday that, "Looking at next Tuesday 14th" as the release date. Also if you recall, last week there was intensive testing by the dev team, and I'm sure now they are working out bugs found and fine tuning the code for next week's push out. I agree, I would desire to see more forth-coming communication from the Next Island team, but I'm sure Meg communicates what she can and when she can. Best of luck to the workers behind the scenes in hopes the release is timely and in answer to many of our hopes in what Next Island can truly be.
Thanks Tom, but would be great to get an official update from MA (doubtful) or the NI Staff. :) Special Thanks to Meg though for giving us what she can.
