CDF is reporting strange things are afoot. In addition to an increase in robot presence on the planet's surface, previously unknown models are joining their ranks. Over and above this, it appears a Colonist was taken captive by robot forces for some period of time.

See the FPC forum for details of a CDF debriefing of Jerry "Wollo" Wollongong. Our speculation is that Wollongong was in some way briefly interfaced to the Ackbal-Cimi hive mind. Whether Wollongong was interrogated by this method, or if this was merely some kind of test is undetermined at this time. Regardless of robot motives, CDF and the Colony need more data.

To that end, Manticore will engage in a 2 part recon-in-force on 6 November, beginning at 2030 UTC. The rally point for "Operation: WTF Now, Toasters?" will be the H-Day staging area slightly north of the Camp Phoenix Teleporter.

Phase one of the operation will be to recon Ground Zero at the Hadesheim Crater. The purpose of this recon will be to gather evidence of a possible increase in robot activity in this area. Robot types present will be noted and targets of opportunity will be engaged.

Upon successful completion of phase one, units will proceed to the Billy's Spaceship Afterworld teleporter. Forces will then perform a recon sweep extending 1 kilometer from the teleporter. This activity is in response to CDF and Manticore intelligence indicating that robot forces may place a high strategic value on artifacts or resources in that area. Forces note any unusual resources or artifacts, as well as cataloging robot forces in the area of operation. Engaging targets of opportunity is authorized.
