So, almost a month and no communication from MA about this. I thought I'd share some of the shits we are going through now PCF thread: http://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/forums/showthread.php?312091-Paypal-is-Down I decided to look on the Paypal-Merchant agreement to find out the possible cause of why the service is stopped (I have doubt that it's paypal's problem and think it's more to the fact that MA messed up somewhere or complaints coming from some players requesting chargebacks) https://www.paypal.com/au/webapps/mpp/ua/merchservices-full Particularly on section 10.2b Reinstatement of service due to missing payment at section 10.3c My opinion on the possible causes (a) Merchant breaches agreement: Quite possible, but no idea as I don't know what kind of agreements they have between each other (b) Perpetrates fraud: Highly likely. It could be that some players request chargebacks to paypal from their deposit with "scam" as the reason and paypal now flags MA as a merchant possibly conducting fraud. There are reports of players getting their CC replaced by bank due to MA being compromised merchant (c/d) causes or fails to fix a security breach relating to the Services: Possible, but unlikely I think. (e) Suspected fraudulent activity on merchant acct: No idea. (f) 3rd party license terminated: I think we can rule this out since there shouldn't be any 3rd party service (aside from paypal) between MA and players (g) Non payment of invoice: Also possible if MA doesn't agree to pay the invoice (maybe due to new agreement or so)

Thx for the refs @McCormick I have doubt that Paypal is coming back. let's see what Ludvig said and over-analyze them "Mindark Management" may mean that the problem is more on the management level than implementation. It's likely possible that the causes are either chargebacks / fraud or new agreements between them, in which MA doesn't agree (which could also mean non-existant invoice payment). They took a month to tell us this because they may have been working on another new payment processor other than paypal.
Lol it gets better. As RavenJade said, many other people also have their CC getting replaced after depositing to MA (in which they said that they have been using the CC regularly to deposit before) due to "compromised merchant". Seems the problem is not just paypal itself RCE doesn't mean anything when you can't even keep up with banking regulations

Lol @McCormick I guess Taldur fails to see the connection in-between. A "compromised merchant" spells trouble for any payment processor there is. If 1 caught wind, u can bet the others will follow suit. Can't really see the disconnect between them
