First. Why i did look it up? Well there seems to be some confuson about what it is, and what it have to do with us PE (EU) players. So i start with a nice "copy and paste" from VU 8.6 Content list: New Physics Engine As part of the ongoing enhancement of the Entropia Universe, MindArk are proud to announce the implementation of the 'PhysX' physics engine by AGEIA. The AGEIA PhysX engine delivers the computing horsepower necessary to enable true, advanced physics in the Entropia Universe. This first implementation stage will allow MindArk to greatly enhance the Entropia Universe with exciting new features during the coming seasons. Please note that the implementation of the PhysX engine does not require that particpants purchase the AGEIA PhysX Card. This update does however lay the foundation for extra physics features in the future which will benefit from the PhysX Card. Ok. Sound's nice, but what is it? To be honest... I'm not sure but have looked up a few link's. First the AGEIA home page: http://www.ageia.com/ Then the 2 produkt links i have found: http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=19&l2=102&l3=0&model=1137&modelmenu=1 http://www.bfgtech.com/physx/index.htm There is most like more manufactures of card's, but this was the 2 i found. I'm not sure about what it does, but it seem's like it "unload" some of the graphic-card's background work. That way the GPU (graphic processor) can work with "what you see", and let the PxysX card work with the interaction. Ohh well. Guess the URL's give a better info. Well. Next is where to put the card (if you buy one). It is NOT a graphic card, so you don't need to think about if you have the old AGP port, or the newer PCI-X port. This card is for the regular PCI slot (same as sound-card's, network-card's and so on). Ok. Have a happy reading, and the URL's i gave is "global" so it shouldn't be any problem (i hope). regard's: nisse
Thanks alot for the info :) Im gonna have a look at them now Lets see what else i have to buy to reduce lag haha:Beaten:
