Everything seemed like a good idea at the time, to someone. The problem is salespeople attaching promises to them about things nobody can foresee, like e.g. Compet payouts. Or like the company itself changing development direction and then being too chicken to face the already invested userbase with plausible reason, expecting them to just forget and move on like they themselves. It is these moments that MA themselves tragically forget or ignore that it's an RCE they created. In my view, this is the common thread throughout MA's entire history and the cause why these things keep hurting. Not sure if money was lost on these stillborn partnerships other than wasted man-hours, hope they didn't pay cash to these losers. But we have worse examples, unfortunately. I can still like the game they made, can't I?
