Planet Explorers - How EU should have been :)

Discussion in 'Other games and gaming' started by Viperstrike, Mar 16, 2014.

  1. Yea, and oops I keep getting Peter from here mixed up with Jason from there, lol sorry Peter. I meant Jason Petersen. I was just so angry I was seeing red :( Anyway I think I will just sit back with a nice big bottle of JD or something and let it all go.

The arse really got me going today, IDK, just so over Entropia and all its antics, especially PCF and its scared little girl syndrome lol.

I requested a permanent closure of my account on PCF, especially if fucktard Jason Petersen is running it.

Anyway here is a new update, I finally got the assembly core/force field in place, damn its huge, I got so much space to build out on and even have an aircraft/battle-cruiser port at the top :)

    Picture :-

Forcefield is level one, but elevated so I should be right without laser/plasma/missle/etc turrets for now.
I will upgrade the forcefield a little later :)
For now I need a lot of glass blocks to fill in the design of the structure.
It will sort of be like a naturally lit greenhouse in the center in a sense :)

  2. Ok so I looked at facebook again, um, lol. I got 1 friend on it, I did a massive exodus a year or so back before closing the account (deactivating it). I might fire it up again, can you shoot me your group link please. Or was that in that PM you sent ?

Hmm. Will see, I am truely not a big fan of FB :S

  3. Oh yea, for those wondering, why stone, well this is the internal structure :)
The final external shell will be made from iron, steel or aluminum ... depending on what I can get my hands on in quantity from mining (eg. Iron/coal, etc. Some of the alloys need time to be processed. You can assign colonists to do the work, but it takes time).

I am just starting to get the hang of the handheld PC scanner for scanning for resources.
I must admit the scanner is pretty damn awesome in the way it scans the landscape and relays info :)

  4. LOL, well a bit offtopic, but decided to test out PCF security features, fired up VMWare Workstation/Ubuntu 12.04 LTS with a VPN service I use, registered on forums, got access. Too easy :) Registered from a Holland IP address lol.

Don't ask why I bothered, just had to do it for fun I guess ;) Needed a time out from PE hehe.

  5. A little more progress. I am now needing to go out and harvest up some more resources to continue.
But for now, I shall call it a night and continue this project in the morning :)

I worked out I have space for 4 extremely large living quarters, 6 aircraft landing pads, 4 large land based vehicle garages and a battle cruiser port at the top of the design ;)

Then ofc there are 8 ranks/platforms of turrets around the entire structure on two tier levels, lower and upper and then extra turrets at the very top (Battle Cruiser port) :D

Picture was taken in the late afternoon game time, so not the brightest :)

  6. Its worth every ped! If you like this type of game... Its first game that has filled my EU void and the stuff that will be coming in future, fishing, herding, pets, creating armor, mechs and buildings in the creator. woot

  7. I was watching a few streams last night and yes the game does look interesting. Also you can host your own world on a windows and/or Linux box from what I saw on the stream where they were testing out the new system his friend was setting up for the group. I just hope that this turns into a full MMO.

  8. As far i understand this is not to be aimed for becoming a MMO nor can you consider it to be one at this moment.

  9. Start of New Base Camp Build :)

Yes, looks like a lot of awesome stuff on the way as far as upcoming mechanics go :)

I put some more thought into the base camp structure, this time, similar concept but this one is more steamlined and flows more naturally, pathing wise internally. Nice big open spaces etc :)

In a sense, designed with the reach sizes of power stations and all in mind :)

Will show you a pic of where I am upto, but so much more must be done.

Once the structure is together it will take a few weeks to design all the items for it to make it look asthetically nice ;)

At the moment is stone barebones layered with a layer of marble :)

I am actually standing on level 4 of building, sorry couldn't get a pic from below to show the scope of work underway.

  10. Heh I always seem to forget to sleep till the next morning before taking happy snaps ;)

Here is the core of the structure from ground level.

So far used ~ 12k stone blocks and 4k marble :)

  11. Ah the soundtrack to go with the base camp once completed :)

I will make a youtube video exploring it using a jetpack and a glider ;)

Ofc aside from the walkthrough hehe

  12. Looking good! Can't wait to see more!! Love the soundtrack too! Im looking forward to update at end of April to see what changes come ... I know we will be able to delete characters from multiplayer(was told by support) at that point ... so some patching to multiplayer is surely coming!

  13. LOL wow, just got an awesome idea for a bar/dancefloor/club ;) going to create 2, since each side of the structure hosts, 24 later living quarters each :) (48 total), so a dancefloor for each side/come bar/cocktail lounge lol.

I hope in an uncoming patch they let us put in wav/mp3 files for different areas :)

Anyway about the pets, I want to tame one of these peakachoo cute little things lol.

    2014-03-25_00005.jpg

An alive one ofc lol, damn im nasty hehe, I will call him Neomaven lmao!

    2014-03-25_00006.jpg
He is just sleeping, I promise hehe :P

err ... tastes like chicken ha!

  14. I also encountered sentient life today, a UFO with blades that come out of the side of the spherical object that rotate and it fires a shit-ton of missles too lol.

Sorry no pic this time, I died too fast hehe.

Good to know my base won't be too OP with hard shit like that ingame :P

  15. Design concept so far, more to be added in time.

So far it will host, 48 colonist dwellings (24 per side, or 12 per side if I give them 2 rooms each), 2 dancefloor/bar/cocktail bars (1 per side).

4 core centre levels, ground is the forcefield generator as you can see in the above pic, next 3 levels in the centre will be powered by 1 of the 5 powerplants to power, repair/enhance/storage/etc machines.

Roof/top will host multiple aircraft landing pads and 2 airstripes and a central battle cruiser landing area (Lol feels like Stargate SG-1).

Edges (N/S/E/W) will host 4 multi-tier levelled turret arrays for laser/plasma/missle defenses etc.

And more to come. 2 sides for farming on ofc, land will be left intact for farm (x1) and other side for self planted seeds etc. (Not sure if they intend to introduce more than one farming area in a later patch.

  16. New youtube video background music for upcoming video, let me know what you think ...

I will be doing a lot of gliding, jetpacking, aircraft flying and ofc some ground vehicle work .. so I will do the activity that best suits the music at the time I guess.

  17. Hey thanks Calli !

Yea I thought the music suited the game environment pretty well ;)

Especially with some of the epic monster battles that are available ingame, eg. Alien camps :)

    ----------

    Further additions to the concept.

There will be a couple of sanctuaries included on an upper level (Using their own sound nodes, once added to game, if added), some office space (maybe) and outdoor seated/outlook areas. On the top level there will be two (maybe four) operation control/lookout towers as well.
