Planet Explorers - How EU should have been :)

Discussion in 'Other games and gaming' started by Viperstrike, Mar 16, 2014.

  1. Some more progress.

I finished the 3 core central levels, the 5th level I am standing on in the below pic will be the start of the further additions to the concept.

First however I must go down 3 levels and start the colonist dwelling build out :)

So far used ~ 20k stone blocks and ~ 6k marble blocks.

I expect that to be up around 60-75k stone etc once dwelling blocks are completed.
48 (24 per side) very large rooms are completed.

Keep in mind what you see here is just the center of the entire complex ...
It will be epic in size once complete.

I am off to harvest up a lot more stone 30k+ to start the build out on the 3 colonist dwelling levels

  2. The SS Viperstrike, OMFG ... The ideas I have for the battle cruiser *HUGE GRIN*

I like the fact that it is done in the designer, huge in size ... will check now how big lol.

Man I am so excited about this game and the vehicles you can create.

Good thing is that the physics attached are fairly realistic too!

Lucky this is a 40km x 40km world map, a few potholes here and there won't be noticed ! lmao

  6. Seems you having tons of fun!

    Nice screens so far :)

  7. Thanks bud, yes I am finding this game really enjoyable to play.
I know it is a bit slow going at the moment, but once this mega complex is out of the way, I will do some more hunting in terms of what is available as far as some of the epic battles that can be had and interesting areas that can be explored, both above ground, underground and in the ocean :)

  8. 4am start to the day :D Ah the coffee lol.

This morning I will show you a nice dawn is breaking picture whereby the sun is just about to come up, the sky starts to twilight just before it comes up :)

Mind my portable wooden bed that I carry around with me - Don't leave home without it !*grin*

  9. Now that it is daylight, here is the ingame minerals scanner. Today I am looking for iron.
The landscape I am on is relatively flat, so the scanner landscape image is somewhat flat.

If there were mountains, the grid on the scanner would show it.
(Same goes with depressions in the landscape).

The little white blob on the scanner shows the iron deposits in area - Not much in this area lol
A little to the East of my current position.

  10. Today I have come to conclusion after playing a few recent games like this one, Planet Explorers, Star Citizen and a few others that I am really wasting my time with Entropia.

What do you need to have fun with these other games ?
A good mindset and the ability to relax and enjoy yourself :)

And the cost is tiny, so very little money needed ...
$25 to $ 50 per game for many hundreds (If not a few thousand) hours of gameplay.

What do you need to play Entropia ... Or should i say what is the PLOY of Entropia ?

To rapidly consume your money and shitloads of it too!
The more fun you want, the bigger the PLOY of taking your money in greater and greater amounts.
($5+ an hour of play at mid levels and it goes much higher at higher levels)

I am almost at the point now having been an avid Entropia player for so many years (7) and having spent many tens of thousands (est $62,000 AUD ~ $ 50K USD over 7 years) on Entropia as "paid for" entertainment (Other than kicking myself for being in that boat) ...

I am now at the point of laughing at others who play Entropia in that the value for money is truely not there in comparison to other games available to play that offer the same, yet so much more than Entropia

MindArk can't even put together a professional program, mechanics wise with useful and purposeful items in it. They are ok at producing some of the eye candy (graphics), but really, the most absorborant and expensive MMO in the world that can't even put together something useful that has purpose to it ?

    LMAO!

As the CEO would say at MA, here is my PLOY, what do you need to play my game *laughs*

Your money in MA (my) money sink :)

Note: Please if your a reader reading this thread from an outside source, eg, linked from my steam account. Do not get sucked into Entropia Universe, it is truely a PLOY to steal money from you by the bucket load.

I put in this note to make sure you can't say I didn't warn you first about Entropia :)
And that I can officially tag you as a sucker/gambler if you do get sucked in to Entropia *grins*

  11. erm, lol ... My first thought when thinking of JWT, creator of Entropia :)

  12. OMG, this one is new for me... :)
    That one is so funny...

Would almost think it is a voice over to ridicule Entropia but that would make it the best one ever done by McCormick :)

  13. Now now, seems you are having a great time and all here, but remember that this is a Planet Entropia forum and some here do like the game a lot. So if you are going to turn and start putting down the game then well, maybe you need to think up another forum to post your game play here.

  14. Everyone is welcome to their opinions, my opinion stands of Entropia being a 7 year player and a part of this community for that long. You may like it, I do not like it so much and see it as a financial money guzzling rip off for the value in entertainment it provides vs other games that I will be starting to showcase on this forum over time as potential alternatives.

However this is where I do tell you to get off OzTwo - Entropia Planets is a multi-gaming forum, it primary content is about Entropia Universe, however it does support other games too.

That is why this post is in Misc Other Games section. :geek:

It is the same with how I got the ball rolling with another game alternative ESO - Elder Scrolls Online which now also has its own forum subsection here > http://www.entropiaplanets.com/threads/elder-scrolls-online-4th-april-2014.11161/#post-68000

So thinking up another forum to goto will not be the case, you will just have to ignore reading this thread :)
If you do not like this, please take it up with the Entropia Planets forum owner.

I am free to warn the viewers of my thread which I have linked on other forums, especially from my Steam account with my reputation attached, that I do not in any way recommend them to get involved with Entropia Universe.

(My opinion and recommended warning to them)

The choice is each individual's to make, though I warn any outside viewer of this thread that
I highly DO NOT recommend them to play Entropia Universe.

  15. Back on topic.

I managed to harvest up some more stone today, I shall have an update by tonight on the build process.

  16. Yes I thought it was hallarious how David Simmonds (CEO) says at the start:

It is completely free with no subscription fees and all ...

But what do you need to have fun .... Money!
And for more fun what do you need .... More money lol.

Contradiction(s) of the century! Yet totally true of Entropia :)

  17. 64-Bit & 100s of people on one multiplayer server, Epic Awesomeness!
    http://steamcommunity.com/app/23787...34263966/?tscn=1395779085#c540737262303246111

  18. The 64-Bit stuff is indeed very interesting, not only for this game... And since Unity 5 is launched...
Still even as it is not designed to be or become a MMO i must agree you can still achieve epic awesomeness in the multi-player environments.

About trashing Entropia in this topic, in response to you and Oztwo.
Think it is not really needed to press it into this topic, I myself are just like you very disappointed in Entropia but it brought us to this point we are now.
Be glad you learned to appreciate other games again, something that is very hard for most that are in Entropia for so many years as we were.

Showing the great deal of fun you have and mentioning you really glad it is not costing as much as EU is not a bad thing to say, but how you write it down can make a big difference.

Again thanks for this great topic, really became interested again in trying it out again.

  19. Hi Tesla,

I think I will just leave it at a recommendation to not get involved with Entropia without the nastiness in the OP and leave post #70 as the descriptive one with all content attached. I have a steam rep to uphold, so anyone looking to get involved with the shonks at MA with their money guzzling game is definitely something I will inform people against doing. Period.

I really do feel strongly against Entropia at this time and will do for some years to come I believe. They have totally trashed in my honest opinion the good will and the potential of the "Real Cash (Casino for EU) Economy" concept.

Updating OP now, I wish not to discuss Entropia further in this thread.
