Planetary auctions

The Auction on a planets is good measure to see how the economy on the planets is doing. I have been tracking the auctions on all the planets for a few months now and put the data in a wiki table. Below you'll see the results. The numbers you see are the average amount of auction pages calculated from the days in that week that got data filled in.

If you click on the link displayed at the bottom of this post you will get some cool graphs displaying the data graphically.

Well it has been a while since I first posted this and the table has grown a little since then.

We see the introduction of Cyrene (week 18) which took some page out of the auctions of the other planets and then Treasure Hunting (week 22) on Arkadia which dropped the page on the other planets again. As it is now Arkadia is at an all time high and Calypso was at an all time low last week. Cyrene might be leveling out right now and settling in on about the same amount as NI and RT.

What we can definitely see from these numbers is that big events or developments have a lot of impact in the amount of auctions on a planet and therefor the amount of people there.

So in order to keep players on your planet you really need to have a lot of these events and developments.

 

Just a little info here, this happened when Arkadia launched their instances. Yes, I know that this is because af the huge demand on Arkadian Keys at the moment (20 pages of just keys and key blueprints) but for now that shows that the instances are popular and in my view for good reason, because they are fun to do.

At the same time we see Next Island drop and I'm sure that's because of all the things happening with them at the moment, so I guess there needs to be some clarity from them so people will get back there.

Cyrene, well they started of pretty well, but are dropping, so I guess the 'new' is gone. Looks to me they need to add more stuff fast and do the real launch to get people in.

Rocktropia is doing OK with their new content, looks like people are going there for their instances. A few pages of Hell keys helped to get up the page count on Rocktropia as well.

Calypso seems to stay at about the same count.

 

Made a little table showing the amount of auction pages every day (if someone has filled them in that is) and what you see is the influence of Mary Mayhem and the auction on Calypso spiking

 

Merry Mayhem is over and right away you see the amount of auctions go from Caly back to the other planets

 

yep, it is a graph showing the weekly average of each planet and can be found in the wiki (putting those on the forum like the table does not yet work):

But we can basically make any graph with this, weekly, daily and we can even do one of all the planets in the same graph, which Tass did on his test page, has the explanation of the colors a bit in the way though:

Feel free to add then any day you like, it is dead simple, just click the Add record button and fill in the data.

 

Well it is actually on the front page of the wiki, on the right side, below the CLD tracker and the Treasure Hunting bit. But I agree I'll see if I can make it a little more 'findable' when you are browsing the wiki.

It is now in the side bar, under the Wiki Tools topic, together with 2 other tools that were created for our wiki, by the users. We might rename it of move it around a bit, but I'm sure it will stay in there. Now to go and develop more useful tools, so if there is any suggestions, let us know (or build it yourself of course).
