Mindark’s next content release date will be March 13th, so we’ll be releasing our next Next Island content on that day. Our next release offers a few updates to the existing missions with the Crystal Center robots. We’re making some (mostly minor) dialogue changes to set up for the larger improvements to time travel that we’ll be making in the following release. I’ve grown to love the Crystal Center robots, but I’ve long felt that time traveling to classical Greece should be an even more epic adventure! (That might be my years of classical studies though….) And soon it will be. We’ve also found that players new to the vastness of the Entropia Universe found the walk out to Orpheus’ Cave to be long and confusing. Now, players going to Greece for the first time will have some more markings along the way. Bess Mackenzie, one of the First Wave scientists, joins Tom Shepherd out on Shepherd’s beach. Like Prof. Kardsten, this is a mission and a character I wrote last spring, and it’s really delightful to see it in the early stages of production now. And, like DiNapoli, she will offer chained missions that open the larger story. We also plan to release new items and blueprints in March. We’ll be releasing further pieces of armor, with an art style to match the existing Trojan Breastplate. These will be craftable and usable in Ancient Greece. A few pieces will also be colorable, so after months of fighting defenseless in Greece, players will be able to use stylish protective armor. This armor set deserves its own post, so check back for a work-in-progress with some screens and some chat about the requirements. All these will be dropping in world on March 13th! Nice to see a full set of armor in the works. I went to NI this last weekend for a soc hunt, but didnt really have time to explore much. Be fun to go and spend some more time exploring, and armor should be helpful in greece. narfi
Please, please do everything possible to ensure that the blueprints use realistic quantities of resources, this time. The weapon blueprints were a spectacular failure. And please don't make the armour (L) with miserably low TT like the weps, so that it breaks after 10 minutes of use. I was really pleased to read about this, until the weapon BPs started dropping, now I'm dreading the outcome. Is is not possible to take advice from somebody who: a) plays the game, and is familiar with crafting b) understands just how uncommon the NI specific resources are? I mean, it's not just the drop rate, it's just 1 crystal per drop, that's the killer. Collecting 20 of anything takes forever, even if all you have is 20 pecs worth at the end of the day. Its in no way equivalent to 20 animal hides or whatever, Please don't release any more blueprints without thoroughly looking into what went wrong with previous BP releases. I'd much sooner wait.
