Population Ecology:Why things seem Borked..

The reason things seem so borked is a simple question of Ecology..or the lack of knowing about it.. Native Americans seem to have a natural affinity for this.. seems like alot of other Americans like to call them tree huggers. Makes no sence to me since with the total lack of respect of Ecology things stop functioning with the respect not only for Human life but all life. This is not Untrue for even the Planets in UE..

The population is the unit of analysis in population ecology.

A population consists of individuals of the same species that live, interact and migrate through the same niche and habitat.A primary law of population ecology is the Malthusian growth model. This law states that:

"...a population will grow (or decline) exponentially as long as the environment experienced by all individuals in the population remains constant."

This Malthusian premise provides the basis for formulating predictive theories and tests that follow. Simplified population models usually start with four variables including death, birth, immigration, and emigration. Mathematical models are used to calculate changes in population demographics using a null model. A null model is used as a null hypothesis for statistical testing. The null hypothesis states that random processes create observed patterns. Alternatively the patterns differ significantly from the random model and require further explanation. Models can be mathematically complex where "...several competing hypotheses are simultaneously confronted with the data."An example of an introductory population model describes a closed population, such as on an island "ISLAND", where immigration and emigration does not take place. In these island models the rate of population change is described by:

Since this farmula leaves out immigration wich is very much a part of EU and all the planets we would have to look at a varried mathamatical hypothasis Known as the:

The Levins model and Metapopulation. What is a Metapopulation?

Metapopulation:A set of spatially disjunct populations, among which there is some immigration. A metapopulation is generally considered to consist of several distinct populations together with areas of suitable habitat which are currently unoccupied. In classical metapopulation theory, each population cycles in relative independence of the other populations and eventually goes extinct as a consequence of demographic stochasticity (fluctuations in population size due to random demographic events) the smaller the population, the more prone it is to extinction.

Although individual populations have finite life-spans, the metapopulation as a whole is often stable because immigrants from one population (which may, for example, be experiencing a population boom) are likely to re-colonize habitat which has been left open by the extinction of another population. They may also emigrate to a small population and rescue that population from extinction (called the rescue effect).

This is what is what is being witnessed by numberious people that Play EU and have been on new planets as well as from new players that are Born/Created on these planets.

And to finish this explination of what it all looks like the BIG Picture and what we should look at is: Micro Habitat Patches (MHPs) and bacterial metapopulations.

This Best Discribes the social economic & population ecology of game and all it's Planets/astaroids ect ect.

    MHPS:
By combining nanotechnology with landscape ecology, a habitat landscape can be nanofabricated on-chip by building a collection of nanofabricated bacterial habitats, and connecting them by corridors in different topological arrangements and with nano-scale channels providing them with the local ecosystem service of habitat renewal. These landscapes of MHPs can be used as physical implementations of an adaptive landscape by generating a spatial mosaic of patches of opportunity distributed in space and time. The patchy nature of these fluidic landscapes allows for the study of adapting bacterial cells in a metapopulation system operating on-chip within a synthetic ecosystem. The metapopulation biology and evolutionary ecology of these bacterial systems, in these synthetic ecosystems, can be addressed using experimental biophysics.

In Conclusion without food the Ecosystem Die's! Blue Prints and Real Value Items that come from them is what Drives the Economy..it is the Food.. Without them population emmigration and extinction are a fact.

Wonder what needs to be done?

    Spart. :palm:
