I've been using Taksi for a while which also does video capture as well as still image capture, but I sometimes get problems when using the pause toggle function 'F7' (F6 = start, F7 = pause, F8 is stop). The main problem being, that when I press F7 again to unpause a vid-capture, there is a long delay (bad lag) before the in-game graphics gets going again. For instance, I was in my vtol and pressed F6 to start the clip just before going forward, then I pressed F7 to pause, then F7 again to unpause, or restart, but the in-game graphics just froze for about ten seconds before resuming - but unfortunately because I couldn't see where I was going (:D), I ran into a hill :). Do other ppl have this prob with the pause toggle using Taksi? Is there anything better than Taksi??
I have never used it, I do use Fraps and I have not had this issue. My guess would be that there is some memory swapping going on and while it is happening your screen is not being updated. There may be some settings on your graphics card that may help. Does taksi recommend any hardware/settings etc? Did it manage to record your crash for you to watch latter?
Would you like to have used it he or she do use Fraps? Me either.Where did you get your guess would be that there is some memory swapping going on and while it is happening your screen is not being updated? Why do you say that?I think taksi recommend a hardwaresettings does taksi recommend a hardwaresettings.I can not experience pain.
Thanks Cee! I've also got Fraps, so I tried that as well, but similar problems, so maybe there is memory swapping going on. I've since found out about another one called PlayClaw and downloaded the free version and this gives no lag at all; but the problem with the free one is that it has a watermark... The paid version is only $29 or whatever that is in ££, so I might get that... -- I didn't save the clip showing me crashing, because I quit Taksi after using Ctrl-Alt-Del to get out of EU as htis was the only way of getting out (EU had stalled). When I logged back in, I discovered the vtol resting peacefully on the side of a hill in robot land not far from phoenix . But there was no robots near me; just as well, otherwise it would have been a total repair-job, and there was only minor structural damage. It still takes off .
