No discovery? That's odd, maybe MA put it somewhere we can't see it yet?

 

Creating DNA does not generate discoveries, probably due to it produced in the refiner rather than being found in the traditional sense.

At some point MA might change this, and you'll probably know because all of a sudden lots of ingots we already have will be discovered :)

Grats to Shoti for his combining the new DNA

 

There seems to be a awful lot of drama and hate surrounding this DNA, anyone know the story? (Without any bias)

Was just interested as the thread in ef was getting nasty.

 

i seen first hand how he deals and its not a pretty sight thats why i dont grats him and hope he looses big out on it.

Anyway here's my account of my dealings with him (copy pasted from EF):

 

Hmm, ok, i reckon we'd have seen quite some from you, Letomie, Furor,...
maybe better, there may be good reasons to keep it secret.

But, weren't there discovery swirls 'n' trumpets for the new ingots?
I'm not sure about Zand back then, but i could swear i've seen discoveries for Iolite, Erionite & Pyrite ingots.

 

Discovery swirlies would be nice, the news goes out pretty quick anyway and you typically want people to know that there's a new mob in place or soon to be in place.

I can't remember seeing any discoveries for ingots.
I did see some for the raw ores though.

Interestingly enough, there are discovery swirlies for new skill chips, back when mindforce harmony chip was made, and the latest vehicle skills, for example.

As for Shoti and the DNA thing, I was unhappy about some of his "negotiating tactics" but whatever. However the big thing that bothered me most was he was buying/selling/buying all in the same week and admitted publicly that when he made the DNA he was going to sell it.

I would MUCH preferred if the DNA race were done only by those who were actually LA owners planning on using the DNA. Anyone else were simply middle-men fighting for something to sell for profit.

And yes, I'm quite aware that Merc and Skippie aren't LA owners and I'm unhappy about them being in the race as well.

And yes, I know Shoti had an LA, but when he admitted he was making it to sell it, that pissed me off.

Unlike some, my personality doesn't change based on where I am.

The apologies were for specific reasons:

1. First was to have fun w/ the whole moderator thing (some jokes are just too silly to pass up)
2. Second was to say I will try hard to not be the next (whatever his name was, that double-triple-multi-posted, and threatened flower bombs to MA.) can't remember name, but you get the idea.

 

*gg* yes, got that, just winding you up a bit (i know too little 'bout the whole 'crucify shoti' thing to make meaningful contributions to this thread anyway...) - you know, the good old EP vs. EF storeeeehhh, or maybe a remainder of good ol' ER cruelty... who knows... ;)

Funny tho, the ones complaining more than anyone else are exactly those that are well known for, at best, questionable business practices, too...

Must be hard when someone beats you at your favourite game....




However, i think some people trying to organize a "group boycott" of someones LA over this, well... that's something where MA should intervene IMO.
It's up to everyone where he want to hunt/mine, but deliberately trying to ruin someones business (and even advising an entire soc to do so) is foul play... but, judging from history, MA/FPC will look the other way once more im afraid...
