For over a month The Egg has sat in a dark shed out in the middle of the frozen wastes of western Amethera, its position having been pinpointed by a number of adventurous colonists. It is now time to recover The Egg so that it can begin its journey back to Treasure Island. This requires the Maffoid threat in the area to be temporarily neutralised. Three separate hour-long assaults will be launched on the 1st of August, their targets being the Maffoid Leadership Caste that resides in OLA-33. These assaults will be organised through the Calypso Event System, and entry is free. Calypso Colonists are invited to join in one or more of the assaults. The three people who collect the most loot from fallen Maffoid in each assault will each be rewarded with 175 PED for their efforts. Colonists who wish to participate yet do not wish to engage the Maffoid directly are invited to scout for those fighting and discuss strategies for returning The Egg to Treasure Island. The results of these strategy discussions will help determine the path The Egg takes on its way home. Maybe I'm being rude by not being in character or whatever. But I thought the egg removal thing was a 'real' event, like it had to do with the story, but you just moved it? Or like.. Is this some MA thing and you just simply put some nice planning around it in order to make it more enjoyable or how is this? Please, this is just my curiosity and I don't mean to sound rude.
It's my event, MA and FPC have nothing to do with it and it is not related to whatever they have planned. Whilst I wait for The Egg to hatch I decided to do something useful with it. The 'theft' of it from TI, and the recovery of it from the Maffoid, are the start of an event chain that will take it across Amethera and back to TI. Along the way there will be a variety of events - some standard like this one, and some a little different like the first one. Hopefully people will enjoy them :) - Deathifier
I love the initiative! :D And I gotta say, you've done it well since I totally bought into it and thought it was MA made and you just gave us info! (Well this thread made me question it but yeah.) Kudos!
The first assault on the Maffoid has been completed and the Aussies (plus a few extras) have given them a good thrashing. I'm sure the European and American colonists will step up and give those Maffoid an equally good thrashing - Deathifier
