  1. Here is an idea that has come up before. Estate/hanger and maybee even item Rental's. They spen all this money, they being MA and the players who bought them, on banks. Does anyone ever use it??? I know it doesn't make sense to me. But if a bank could rent out certain things with an automatic times up repo or something. I know i Would start using them for things i wanted like renting a hanger for a week. All they would have to do is make an expiring rental deed, kinda like the claim deeds they have for mining, and if a rental deed exists you cant print another for the same time. Since MA wants money also give the service a fee of like 10 ped per rental ticket printed. A bank could even be required to provide this service giving, yet again, the banks a purpose other then loans on 100% colateral.

  2. In essence a great idea Shim. This would also formalise the 'lending' of objects to other users. MA could force a return of the object if the borrower, let's say, is a litle reluctant! The terms could be set at the point of creating the rental deed, so you could ask for very little, or a lot accordingly.

The advantage to MA is that borrowing nice items would get playters more excited about the game, and aspiring to owning such items in the future.

  3. I agree this would ultimately improve life on Entropia, but would also allow for MA to profit in a round about or even a direct way. (round about would be tempting players to deposit to buy the item they rented. direct would be for MA/bank to charge a small fee to draw up the contract. I would pay a small fee to be able to rent a hanger/apartment/shopkeeper/shop/ whatever. MA is missing a huge market here for "Investment Property"

  4. Renting apartments, shops and shopkeepers is a good idea, especially since that is done in real life. Renting hangers, on the other hand, is questionable to me. Look at it from the view of the pilots, this is how they make thier money in the game, if you were to rent a hanger, a pilot would become less useful since you could rent one for a day, and then return it. Good idea, but unfortunatly would be bad for the economy in the game.

  5. Not necissarily. If a pilot/hanger owner is going to be out of game for a week they are not using this hanger. Should it not be the option of the owner to decide to rent it out for that week. There is also the aspect of price. This is up to the owner to decide and the renter to accept. I dont think that it would hurt the economy it would simply make certain things easier to access. Instead of having X number of pilots where Y number are not using the hangers because of various reasons we now only have X-Y hangers that are active. So say there are 20 hangers and 15 are inactive that leave 5 hangers to be active. Since pilots are rare demand goes up and prices are extorted. But if the 15 that are inactive rent these out to 15 pilots that want a temp run at it. Guess what prices become acceptable and more travel thus making the same if not more money. As a side affect prices on oil go up due to fuel comsumption demands. This makes increases the yield of miners which makes them mine more which ultimately builds a surpluss of resources that makes people craft which allows hunters to hunt cheaper which causes an economical boom.

    Sorry for the rant.

  7. I like your thinking, but you are trying to pull a Wal-Mart on the pilots... putting them all out of business... lol

The way I see it, It cost 35-40 PED per trip for the decay and Oil. More customers = more money... However, if you can only do 4 trips an hour... (This means you are leaving a hanger every 15 minutes which is about the most that you could do reasonably). That means, (Going on the higher side of 40) you will be spending, 160 PED an hour, Current rates are 20 -25 PEDs per person, as long as you are doing 4 persons a trip. This is a great rate currently because that means that the person will make 160-200 PED Profit an hour.

However, if you lower that price... to lets say, 15 per person... That makes it only up to 80 PEDs profit per hour. In USD, this translates to $8.00 an hour. Which is a little above minimum wage. Then if you stack a rental fee ontop of that and take into consideration that you have to stop your flights to collect oil or have to pay someone to get it to you on a regular bases... your looking at about $7.00 an hour. Which is not a good price at all and it is not worth being a Pilot at this point in time.

Right now, I think a Pilot averages 100 PED an hour. (This is because of the slow times and the high times for flights). Which is ok, because if they do it full time, they should be able to get there money back in 6- 8 months, before it starts becomeing a full time profit. If I was a Pilot, I would want nothing less then 100 PED an hour. Otherwise it would just not be worth it to be one.

  8. A rental system would be a good idea for things like hangers and shops, or the more specialist weapons that have a high market value. I like it.

  9. Of course you could do it like real life... If you have that amount of money in your account... then you can rent it... But if you dont have that kind of money... well... you prolly dont need to rent it or do not have enough experience to rent it. :)

  10. A slight hole in you thinking here. I cannot see that pilots make 100 ped an hour. Ive watched pilots take at least an hour to get a full flight and that is even if they can in an hour.Decay cost for a flight is 44 Ped, that includes oil and decay. So if pilots do one full flight an hour they make 56 ped profit per hour. Im not wanting them to go walmart but i know it frustrates me that i cant get up to CND when i want to because pilots are short supplied. I never said that owning a hanger was going to make anyone more money then a minimum wage job. And if a pilot doesnt want to rent his hanger out he dont have to. But having that option, which exists now, in a secured setting would be awesome. This may not cause prices to go down 10 ped per ticket but having more pilots ready to fly means more people will because its more convienient and they dont have to wait an hour or two to take off. I know i only get a chance to play about 2 hours a night. An hour wait means I only get to play half that time doing what i want. So i dont go up much.

  11. This part is fully agreed on. I have been researching a hanger since I joined the game, and I think the prices are going to stay where they are... but your right, the amount of trips increasing would be nice. I have 2 pilots on my friends list. If one goes off, the other comes on. So if I need one, I can just call em up. Generally, when I go, I have my buddies with me, so no matter what, the flight is ready to go when I ask. :)
