Not often I make it to the front but with all "Shared Loot" Globals and HoFs coming through in the past 24 hours or so I was curious. The HoF board is pretty much filled with "Shared Loot" Atrox Queens. Apparently these Atrox have fed well on the Eomon and Longtooth during their migration and with the migration over are now hungry. The migration does confuse me a bit, where do they come from and where do they go? It's on an island so they can either swim or fly! I so hope they can fly, herds of Eomon lumbering along and then taking gracefully to the sky, flying off into the sunset. Probably not a good idea to be underneath them! Anyway, I left Minopolis and headed South West (ish) where I found many colonists herded together and being hunted by some big Atrox, I managed to take a few pictures before being killed several times and whilst there I had a go at helping the surviving colonists, my attempts were pointless but why break the habit of a life time? The whole scene was pretty chaotic, bodies and swirlies everywhere. The first picture, I had just arrived, there were lots of aircraft flying in (being careful to dodge the Eomon I expect), it gives an idea as to their size. Image two, using one of my little stabby knives I chased this Queen away from the colonists, it's not how big the blade is it's where you put, that Atrox was moving some! Shot number three, This is such a bad neighbourhood even the Atrox Queens travel in pairs, lots of colonists seem to be just standing about, awed by the spectacle, frozen with fear or suffering lag? Take your pick. The fourth image is taken at the revive, here colonists are desperate to return to the fray to defend their friends and family and maybe make some money in the process. The last picture shows a lull in the relentless attacks by the Atrox giants (that would be a football team you wouldn't want to be drawn against), the colonists take a well earned breather. By this time I was trying my new toy with as little success as I had with my old toys but I didn't have to run as much. These Atrox can stop dead and running into the rear end of a Queen is something this colonist decided he would prefer to avoid. I have no idea how long these creatures will survive, clearly they need to evolve a bit so they can take to the air and hunt the Eomon on the wing. Now that would be worth watching.
Heck, never seen atrox that big before, never seen a queen atrox either. I suppose you can't hit them with a quad-wing laser salvo ;)
Unfortunately mounted weapons only seem to work against other players! Besides why would you want to do this when you can stab them with a tiny little knife :).
