Hey all, Per request of Phunksta i am planning on writing several guide pages for the forum detailing mining in entropia based on research I am doing on the subject. However, to do this properly I am in need of more data then i can collect on my own, so i need your help. I am collecting several data sets of data for my research which i will detail below. Data Set 1: Range from drop point to claim, claim depth, average search depth, finder. Reason : This will allow me to build a more accurate model of what ground is actually searched by a probe/ bomb and if it differs with different finders. Use : This can be used to see how bombs/probes can be stacked or meshed together to more efficiently scan an area. Comment : This can be done 2 ways. First getting the range using the finder. Second is the point of drop and point of claim, the range then can be calculated. Data Set 2: Claim Type, Depth of claim. Reason : This will allow me to gather the ranges that resources live in the ground and develop trends. Use : This can be used to determine which finders should be used to best find certain resources. Data Set 3: Point of claim, continent, claim Depth, claim type, size. Reason : This will be used to develop mining trends for areas as well as see if field do infact move over time. This also will be used to show what areas hold what resources. Uses : This can be used to help decide where to mine certain resources as well as with what finders it will be best to use. Comment : This is a very controversial set of data as it does reveal places that you mine. I understand completely if i do not recieve much or any of this data. All data sets are needed in mass by all finders so every miner out there, professional hobbyist, or newb can feel free to contribute. All results will be posted, as soon as it is worth while to do so, on this site and hopefully turned into guide pages. A recomendation to those who want to contribute is to use "No Resources Found" as this tool allows logging to be simplified to simple key strokes. Also this program logs all the information that i need except range to claim which can be calculated if you log the drop as well. Even though i recommend this program i will take all types of loging types including scanned hand written logs. Ill gladly do the data entry. Thanks for your help in advance.
I think date & time of claim may also be interesting - I have heard various theories about respawn times... will gladly send you any info I collect (there is no method to my mining)
