... and this is exactly what makes the difference. Lack of rules in ER was what led it to where it is today. If ER's comeback is planned for it to continue 'ruleless', then don't even bother... on the other hand, if ER wants to make it right, it might be already too late. EP took that place now.
I will miss ER, especially the offtopic discussions. I liked the variety of points of view and people who could stand by them without having their hands hold by endless rules and crutches. As for the no rules thing, sure it had shortcomings but in the end many of the people hating it were the same who only popped in there to flame and whine (badly too). The forum simply died of neglect, you can't just say this is a no rules entropia forum and expect it to live by principle. It lacked purpose and it lacked means to achieve it. If the new one won't change that it will die too.
EP is the new ER, but with the ability to edit posts. :) Things got really slow over there when this place opened... ER had a purpose once but not anymore. No need to revive it imo.
good point and + rep 4 U. ER may just have sentimental vallue for Brain and members. I fail tho to see the comparrison cos many old ER members have folowed Lykke and Peter here, and a whole group from EF also came in here. EPF spans both devides perfectly and is in fact far more supperior and proffesionally adept than all combined. Unlike Neomaven and Brain, Lykke and Peter are NOT outright unreasoneable power trippers. It shows and its a fantastic allure and social abillity.
Just FYI: entropiareality.com has been taken offline completely, the domain name redirects to securepaynet.net now.
EntropiaReality will be back, the current page is just temporary due to a ongoing copywrite dispute that should be settled shortly.
The tricorder is mine - or at least i'll old it ransom until you deliver my stored PMs (and all the odd/funny/weird links/images/quotes)
This thread got me thinking. The funniest thing I saw on ER was on a thread asking if people were banned from EF. After a load of responses, someone posted on the thread basically saying "hey guys, I just got myself banned from EF". The guy came across as very pleased with himself and expecting plaudits from the other members. It was funny seeing everyone flame this guy, calling him an "idiot" and much worse for getting the ban.
I believe a lot of people got the wrong idea about ER. Yes, a lot of people got banned for several reasons, but as far as I see it, it's not cool to get banned just to get banned - and some of the people there were not proud of being banned either. Some people got banned because of their behaviour - and our own admin got temp banned from there for saying his honest, maybe a little rough, opinion :D We, on EP, do not wish people to get banned from other forums either for then turning here believing it's cool, because our rules might not be that strickt. We did already ban people for not respecting the few rules we have, and we will keep doing that in case we have to. ER was good in many ways and I'm sure, that even though people might not have been posted there, they were still reading the threads - it was kind of the secret, dark spot were the 'bad kids on the block' hang out.
i guess i missed this thread. I actually miss the crazy side of ER good old knuckles going to the extreme with things but then having a good ponit in there. That whole pediphile thing was very interesting and good to come out. i do wonder though how did EP not turn out as extreme as the ER did. Like we seem to have the perfect balance here it's like an oasis to me.
