Server Downtime for release of Entropia Universe VU 11.5.5

Tomorrow our servers will be temporarily made unavailable while we implement Entropia Universe Release 11.5.5

The servers will be taken down at 2011-01-18 08:00 UTC, and we estimate a downtime of at least 120 minutes.

REMINDER: In Release 11.5.5, the Entropia Platform includes support for 3-D Secure. When activated, this will increase the security for our participants when placing deposits via payment cards. 3-D Secure is an international security standard set by and used by most VISA and MASTERCARD card issuers. This change will affect ALL deposits using payment cards.

When 3-D Secure is activated, the first deposit you choose to make after this release has to be made through the Entropia Universe website. In the future, if your card issuer requires 3-D Secure, you will be forwarded to the card issuer's web site for authentication, when placing a deposit via the Entropia Universe website.

Note: Release 11.5.5 includes support for 3-D Secure, but due to issues at our payment providers this security standard might not be activated on the same day as the release.

 

It's MA's usual tactic to only announce what is in a VU after the update, logicaly because they want to test the settings on the live server, as some times things tend to go pear-shaped and they have to pull them back, hence the delays we some times experience.

Also keep in mind what ND said: that due to the timezone difference they don't actually know what server sync will come online, so they can't know what has been implemented and what not until the servers go live again. It's certainly not perfect, but that's how it works.
