Should we remove the first entry repeat in threads?

i think its a very handy thing personally, will certainly help keep things on topic for starters...maybe there's a way of shortening op's like it does on the front-page? or have a click-able button or link to expand or contract the said post. that way if the post is long, it doesn't take up too much room but can be expanded if needs be to quote from etc.

maybe useful after getting used to it, but today I was just confused "did I come back to first page hmm" and as EwoK said maybe possible to shorten the long posts

I agree that there should be some kind of distinction on the following pages from the regular posts so that it's not confusing ... especially for those who don't know about the feature.

 

Maybe it is possible to make this optional? So that players can choose to see this or not.

 

It's a GREAT feature.
Ofcourse it should be made optional, like most things should be. (Customization is <3)

But I love it, I too got confused first time I saw it but It's damn great! :D

 

Clicked "MAYbe" - because it's neither yes, nor no...

Get a frame around it or other color or whatever that marks it as OP post, make large posts smaller (i.E. with a scrollbar at the side) and it's nice. Otherwise there are misunderstandings and very long posts are not that good, because you need to scroll over it every time, when you just want to read the answers...

 

Can the initial post on subesquent pages be set to a more subdued color? That keeps it there for reference, but also would draw a little less attention.
Or, perhaps reduce the first post to a snippet of the first few lines on subsequent pages?

Just throwing these out there. I dunno what your new forum software is capable of.

But do agree with the others that a change in colour and \ or font would make it better :D
