Skill Gain Test

    I was curious if using a recently maxed SIB weapon would gain you more skills per ped than an SIB weapon you have maxed longer ago.

    Test weapons: (both used without enhancers for the test)
    ArcSpark (L)s = 47.84 dmg/sec @ 2.896 dmg/pec (counted at 100% markup since tt is all I believe matters for skill gains)
    Firefly (unlimited) = 46.91 dmg/sec @ 2.886 dmg/pec

    ArcSpark Run:

    Blades starting tt = 630.72
    Blades ending tt = 21.84
    Total Cycled = 608.88

    Defense decay = 7.50

    So at lvl 52.x the ArcSpark gives very marginally (3.64%) more skills than the Firefly.
    The margin is small enough that it could be influinced by other factors (such as connection speed, time of day, servers, etc...) I dont have the time or access to enough L arcsparks to do anything more conclusive.

    Ill do one more run for this, and that is testing the firefly tier 7 in the same amount of time as it took to do the enhanced run and compare gains.
    The firefly run I did was 633.38ped, so x 1.7 = 1076.75 (closest the repair terminal will allow is 1085.66 so will try to stop just short of broken)

    PED cycled to gain 1ped tt worth of skills:

    ArcSpark tier 0: 113.17
    Firefly tier 0: 117.29 (3.64% more expensive than ArcSpark)
    Firefly tier 7: 121.26 (7.15% more expensive than ArcSpark)

    TT of skills gained for same time spent: (unenhanced ArcSpark and Firefly have same dps, and Firefly tier 7 cycled 1.7x as much as those runs, so same theoretical time for all three runs)
    (bad math here since the tier 0 firefly cycled a little more ped than the others)

    Firefly tier 7: 8.92ped
    ArcSpark tier 0: 5.38ped
    Firefly tier 0: 5.40ped

    Conclusion:
    If I am focused on pure skilling speed, then pure dps is what matters.
    If I am focused on cheapest skills gained per ped cycled, then the highest lvl maxed weapon may be more important.
    If I have my skill goals reached (maxed target weapon) then I should focus on eco hunting and markup and not worry about skill gains.

    Since I am trying to max the UL arcspark, looks like I will keep grinding with the tiered Firefly :)

    Once I am within range of being able to max the UL arcspark with skill enhancers I may do a couple more runs for this thread. Till then though gl all and happy skilling :)
