Yesterday I arrived at Cyrene and of course did a quick tour of the planet to see if anything had changed since my last visit. Noticed some things had but did not pay to much attention ;) What I am going to do is to see what the return rate is while hunting small mobs. I have done this with Halix on Arkadia and planning to do this with Crystal Pedes on Cyrene. It took a while to find them, but I found a nice spawn near Setter Docks I'm going to use for this test. I'll be keeping track of decay and loot and I will be hunting naked and shooting a TT S.I. HK110, no amp, no attachments. I think there will be little need for healing, but if there is I'll be using my Herb Box. Today I did do a little test to see where I'm at but did not get the exact numbers, but it seems I'm around a 95% return (for 1 run, so this is by no means a representation of the truth). Just to make things clear, the Loot displayed in the table is not just loot, it is also the left over ammo I still had in inventory. This should not matter because I count the entire 50 PED ammo I buy each time as expenditure, the numbers should be the same in the end.
Oh GEEZ! I'd love to be that high for any run! Hunting on Caly, I feel like I hardly get anything back on small mobs
well as I said this is just a first run without really keeping track of things. I will be keeping much better track of things for my next runs. To keep track of my runs, look at this wiki page. My little hunt today was pretty nice, 4.39 PED profit and a return of 108% Overall average return is now 97%, so not bad at all.
I did realize that the math I have been doing was slightly off though. By using the full 50 PED ammo as expense and the left over ammo as loot, the % numbers are off. It seems that % when I have a loss are higher as they should and the % when I make a profit are lower as they should. I'm thinking that overall the average % should be the same, but I have to try that in practice. As an example the 95% return should be much lower, maybe even 60 or 70% but the 108% return should be a lot higher 160 or 170% maybe. The issue with MA adding all the looted ammo to the stack you already have, makes it a bit more difficult to calculate though.
Did the math again and the numbers are now as they should be. As you see, some % are way up and some are way down, but overall I'm still around 90%. I left Cyrene and am back on Arkadia now, so won't be doing any Pede hunts, but feel free to do them yourself and add to the table.
