It will be nice (especially for the veteran players on Calypso) to see one or more of the old systems back in the game (beacons, mentoring, taming and/or others). But it will be even nicer to see lots of Next Island fixes and new content -- moving beyond open beta -- and allowing Next Island to take its rightful place in the Entropia Universe. My fingers are crossed.
I'm expecting fixes for the monkey quests, defensive turrets, and a couple other changes to make our world better for newbies to live in a couple of hours.
On a selfish and vengeful side, Im kinda hoping BPs dont come out. Ubers who want to screw the local economy and people by zooming over to make the first discoveries will find themselves out 80 PED for nothing. Sure, its not like 8 dollars is alot of money, but I'd like to call it the Next Island Pillage Tax. Want to pillage our economy and events for your own vanity? Pay the tax! :-)
that is one one way to look at it.. but a kinda negative way tbh, NI need the BPs to survive, and they will come, and no matter when they come there will be turbulance in the economy at start, as it allways is when new things are introduced. It's just a phase the game has to go through. the sooner we get the bps the sooner NI will flurish and the sooner the NI economy will stabalize. .... and besides i got hundreds of peds in crystals that i cant get sold, so i sure hope the people you speak of will come. the people willing to pay big bucks just to get in the discoveries hall of fame... =) they wont be pillaging NI, they will be bringing their money here to buy our overpriced crystals.. lol they will start a real NI economy.
I have to agree with Magyar. If at all possible please do not sell those crystals to non Islanders. I'm sure Island crafters will match offers on them. Please do not sell any NI specific loot. This is one of very few times I would suggest something like this. If we want NI to survive we can not allow BP's to be looted by Calypsians and then sold at overpriced mark ups. Let them come, let them craft, but don't sell them loot, or at least charge them twice or even thirce MU for it. Thanks for listening to that rant :)
sounds more like you want to shut out non-islanders.. just let them come over and when they see NI they will stay and NI will grow further. i have been waiting to play for too long, and i have deposited more than i can afford.. all my crystals are going straight to auction as soon as the blueprints come out
Sorry, I may have been too general with the term "Calypsian". I do not want to suggest isolationism. There are just those who do not like the idea of other planets and try to make them fail. There are others who are motivated by greed alone, who will come here to get the new BP's then sell them for ridiculous MU. I am only trying to caution against that. It would be in the best intreats of NI if those bp's went to people who planed on staying on NI.
actually i have never heard of people who are against other planets.. and even trying to make them fail... but thankfully i believe they themselves will fail horribly :) NI is one of the greatest things that happened to EU in my oppinion, and i'm guessing alot of other people think so too. besaides if they make blueprints expensive as heck then only a few people will produce NI items, and the items produced will have very high markup, meaning (hopefully) that the ingredients needed will have a high markup, meaning even new players that come to NI will have a good chance at actually making a profit. then again this is just me speculating :)
My guess is the patch wasn't there yet, or at least, I'm still killing mobs named '???' :D and another note, did anyone else notice a horrible amount of no loots this morning? Anyway, won't be worried about the update - I'm sure it will be there when it's ready and to be honest, I would rather wait until it is ....
