We've decided to sweep a broom through our forum structure, in order to drastically cut down on some of the clutter. We ended up merging various sub forums into single forums, moving posts and threads along, and basically conglomerating a lot. Redirects have been left in place to ensure that bookmarks you might have will not be affected. It might take a tad to get used to, but in the long run, we do hope you will find it easier to move around the forum. Today we conducted phase 1. We will most likely do some additional moving, and will keep you well informed of what moved where.Suggestions and/or comments are, as always, welcome :) Details of today's sweepage: All planet partners now just have a General forum. Before, they had a seperate Items, Professions and Skills, and Flora and Fauna suforum. All posts in there were moved into the General forum for the planet in question, and then the additional forums were removed. We also restructered a few other things in order to clear up the page visible under "Forums". The "EntropiaPlanets Tracker" forum has been removed. Posts in it are nowin "About EntropiaPlanets". Several of the forums that initially had their own section directly under the "Entropia Universe General" category have now been moved under "General Entropia Universe Discussion". This applies to the following forums: "Professions and Skills" "Entropia Platform" "Entropia Tools" "The Black Hole" The newly created "Entropia Space" Under "Professions and Skills", there were a number of sub forums, all but one of which have now been merged into the "Professions and Skills" forum. This applies to: "Hunting" "Mining" "Crafting" "Beauty" "Design/Tailoring" "Piloting" "Real Estate" "Skills" "Sweat Gathering" "Taming" "Tiering" The contents of "Entropia Items" and it's subfolder "Enropia Vehicles" have been moved into "General Entropia Universe Discussion", and the forums have been removed altogether. The items in subforums previously under "Off-Topic" were all moved into "Off-Topic", and the forums themselves removed. This applies to: "Testing" "Forum Games" "Funny Stuff" The "Off-Topic" forum itself has been moved to reside under "Entropia Community".
Would be nice if some how we would be able to see the subforums of all the forums, like it did in VB4 (or what was it called again). But it look 'cleaner' now.
A new category called "Planet Partners" has been added, and all General planet partner forums have been moved under that section, while we removed the individual categories there were before. "Planet Post Moderna" has been moved under the "Other Games" category. The SEE category remains for the time being, while we await news of what will happen there. I think we are mostly done with the shuffling for now. Any more suggestions are welcome :)
Front page changed :) Only the latest news story is now shown on the front page (the banners will change size, to make sure it's not that 'huge' either. The latest posts are now also listed on the front page and right underneath the news story - gives you a faster insight in what's happening :)
Oh - and visitors can now see the front page pictures (and pictures overall) - as I found out they couldn't before.
Looks nice so far, but one thing I am missing since the new forum software is the "Whats New" button on the front page. I know there is one when I click on the forum button and I know that I can see the threats that have any action on the front page, but I still miss the button. Maybe you can drop the HELP button on the top there, there is nothing in there anyway or the members button. One other thing is the "Watched threads" page. You can go to that page by clicking you name on the top left of the screen and choose "Watched Threads" from the drop down list but that is somewhere on the bottom of that list. Is it possible to get that to the top of the list. That link is more important then the link to my own profile (I never go there).
