Something to be excited about in the coming year : > I think I will replay 1 and 2 during holidays to warm myself up for 3 :))
Kreisch! Really? OMG YES PLEASE! Thank you for the info! That's the kind of game I would pay 100 Euro for. I couldn't run part I and II in a propper way last year. So I gave them away. And to be honest: I don't want to play them again. This affectionate story with all the fine carved details of this steam punk world touched my mind so deep. They should be kept as an unique experiance. Like something I enjoyed in real life once. I can't repeat it. But it brings back good memories and makes a warm feeling.
I've not played these games but have seen them about and thought maybe I'd like them. Quick overview or what sort of games they are please?
Point'n'click adventure, nonviolent, kinda steampunk envoirement (without steam but with mechanics to wind up) transferred to our presence (cell phones), nice graphics with incredible details (industrial art deco), affectionately written and drawn story of a long journey (two parts even) of a young lady searching for an old man who vanished long before to find the last mammoths. Happy end in Siberia (tears included) ... so far. I thought the story was over. No clue how it can continue. But I love Benoit Sokal's works. They are peaceful, beautyful, odd, not facile. I'm pretty sure you would love Kate Walker and her stoic but genteel escort Oscar as well! Kinda mechanical C3-PO from the year 1880 (regarding behavior included).
Ahhhrg! I couldn't resist and bought Syberia I again. For 4,99 Euro this time at Google Play Store for my tablet. And yes, it still has it's old charme and empathy. I will download Syberia II as well and play them again during vacation in June. Something comparable to last vacation when I read Asterix & Obelix again. Waiting for Syberia III announced for September 2016. Probably I will reload Geheimakte Tunguska again too. Dunno if there is an English version. ... and probably I should create and print a model of that incredible train ;-)
Since GamesCom it's official: 1st of December Syberia III. Best part is: Tomorrow I will get a 65" curved TV. Hopefully I can pay for a PS4 as well. Would be a blast! Additional I bought a Rhino3D licence. I should really start thinking about the Syberia train as a functional model.
Huhh ... it started :) No need for a PS4 btw. ... just a HDMI-cable ... Well, the train: A functional model is bullshit. A static model printed in bronze will do the job perfectly. It'll be much easier. First shot: Would be an impressive model if I be patient enough to finish it: Gauge of the track is 62 mm, like "G" from LGB or Piko. Now I have to remember how model kits from Revell or Tamiya are designed for an easy assembly. Smallest exterior dimension is 2 mm for the handles. Or 1 mm for the sheet metals. All good for print. 63 days left until Syberia III will be released.
Well, the game arrived yesterday. First impession: Bullshit! It is still a point and click game. Not really 3D. But now you cant point and click but have to move old Kate by use "WASD". That's terrible because perspective changes sometimes dramatically when you enter a new scene. I'm sad about it. After 30 minutes I closed it and started Skyrim ...
siberia 2 is for free at origin now. simply download origin and install siberia 2. It's a point and click adventure.
