The new ability to everyone to tier up items without risking a second item gave me the chance to tier up my beloved Castorian Combat EnBlade-10. This is no uber item but it is rare I think. Not many own such a sword and when I tiered it up I was always the first who did it. My EnBlade-10 is at tier 3.4 atm and I want to share my experiances with this process. Once I bought this sword for 3.5k PED. Seems to be a bad deal since the current MU is 0.00 - LOL! But there are not many of it out there at Calypso. To tell you the final result: You can bring it up to 260 dmg with tier 10. Performing 27 attacks per minute it means max damage of 7020 dmg/min or 117 dmg/sec. I will tell you more next days ...
Okay, it's a trap! Well I got tier 0.9 on it long time ago. It was easy to become the first colonist who tiered up a Castorian Combat EnBlade to 1.0 - TAHHDAHH! 97 Lysterium Ingot 51 Melchi Crystal 19 Pile of Garnets 39 Blazer Fragment 18 Tier I Component ... cheap HoF ... It was easy to reach next level ... 1.9 TAHHDAAHH again - first colonist ... blah blah ... 2.0: 16 Ganganite Ingot 20 Garcen Lubricant 39 Pile Of Garnets 78 Blazer Fragment 16 Tier II Component I was in a flush. All went quick, was cheap ... all toooo easy. When I reached tier 2.5 on it I started records. It is a cheap sword. TT is 103 PED. 12 or 15 minutes hunt at medium Atrox at Manu's LA40 and it's done. But hell yeah, I like this "You did crit of 320 damage" - lol. Manu's LA is best prepaired for that purpose because there is Willunsong North at the LA ... quick repair and back to work. 17 Caldorite Ingot 16 Lytairian Powder 43 Pile Of Opals 117 Blazer Fragments 27 Tier III Component TAHHDAHH ... again the first colonist ... bla bla What I can say from my former records: It took me 43 full uses of the blade (100% down to 3%) to go from tier 1.0 to 2.9. The info window says 137 to reach 1.9 and 168 (305 in sum) to reach 2.9. After that it became a mess. It took me 82 full uses of the blade to reach tier 3.9. The info window says tier rate 173. Now compare the numbers: 1.0 to 2.9: tier rate 137+168=305, uses of the blade 43. 3.0 to 3.9: tier rate 173, uses of the blade 82. When I was stuck for many, many hunts at tier 3.4 I sent a support file to FPC. And guess what the answer was? "It's dynamic." ROFL! Serious folks, why do you give us such numbers in info window with no referring to the "dynamic" progress? Tier rate 305 can mean 43 uses and tier rate 173 can mean 82 uses. Thank you very much! But no worries! The happy end is just in sight! Today was the day of this tier 3.9 thingy ... Jamira, happy after all, went quickly to the Service station to get the necessary components for tier up 4 from her staorage or from auction. 15 Gazzurdite Ingot 12 Root Acid 58 Pile Of Opals 156 Blazer Fragment 27 Tier IV Component Everything was fine until I wanted to add 51 more Oplas to the 7 wich remained from the last tier up. One single offer at auction: 2200 Pile Of Opals, start bit 2500%, buyout 3500% (kinda 12.5k PED ... don't remember). ROFL! I pulled out my FL and asked around for 50 Opals ... there are some well known names on my FL ... but I was not able to get that f****n 50 Opals. Naomi told me that she herself need 12k of that stuff. LOL cool! So let me thank you MA again for that very good balancing. Don't tell me you didn't notice that there will be a high demand for that stuff when you changed the tier process and make it usefull for everyone. I guess it's one of the new RCE features ... Well the happy end is: No need for me to continue with this tier process ... it's simply a mess, bullshit. The tier process took me 2.5k PED loss from hunting and some PED for the materials (<500 PED I think). So it is not that dramatically ... but there is no need to continue with it. If I am confronted with such surprises at tier 4, I don't want to know the surprises at tier 9 or 10! Imagine I had started to tier up my Determinations! (... much more expensive than the EnBlade-10 ... and I got three of the Determinations!) Ciao!
