the weekly price usually filters out the market manipulators. it's a good place to start. now, just a comment, or a preference, if you prefer... most people like to refine their resources figuring they'll get a better price for them that way. almost universally, the price for a raw resource is lower than refined by more than the refining cost. also, all refiners are not the same and a good one is cheaper to operate (a good one saves you about 1/3 of the cost). also, small amounts cost more as there is a minimum operating level for the refiner. because of all of this, it's actually fairer to not refine your resources. the fair price for any refined resource (ignoring any attempts at price manipulation) is the terminal price * markup of the raw resource + 2.1 pec/lot. a lot being 50 units refined. the recent change in refiners may have changed this a little, but I doubt it. (I'll test it later, when I get back to my refiner.) if anything it's made it more important as you can now use a good refiner on wool and hides instead of the goot which was awful.
That's great news Mahuna. Thanks for the comments red. As a suggestion, a little home work--as in knowing what you have, the amounts, their item values, and even weekly mark-up--will help trades along when you're face-to-face with sellers/buyers. Also keep in mind, this fair is positioned right near the storage area on the wooden deck at Crystal Resort Beach Lodges, so you do not have to lug around all those items with you. Well, here are some loose estimates from this last event. A big thanks for everyone who was able to come out, buy, sell, hang-out... (For those who could not attend, you missed a harrowing dance by "asdf" on the perimeter fence with her Vivo device. Quite the balancing act!) Total people who stopped by / traded: 10 Total PED Transactions (rough estimate): 150 PED Also a really big thanks for some of the Next Island society leaders, Jon and Chuck, for attending, dancing, and showing off some of their cool vehicles! For those of you who could not attend, you were missed. So a few questions before I post the next event time/location/date: 1. Time: Is the time of 00:01 EUT (Sunday) confusing to anyone? Mentally I just know from experience I have to convert GMT or EUT to my local Pacific (US) time zone--and I'll sometimes check in world. For this last event I just knew it would be Saturday late afternoon for me (EUT -7). If the time is confusing, we may bump the time an hour earlier or before the "mid-night" hour. 2. Location: Do you all prefer the Beach Lodges area, Club Neverdie (CND), or some other location? The Beach Lodges area certainly is laid out nicely, but CND I feel tends to handle more people traffic through its area plus its music streaming is very danceable--usually. (Of course you can always BYOM - bring your own music.) This coming weekend is Memorial Day weekend in the United States, a big three-day weekend for many people. Tentative next Trade Fair is May 29, Sunday (00:01 EUT), though May 28 Saturday evening for most North America locations. Attendance may be a little less, but I'll still plan on holding it and hope for those who can make it will take a little time out to stop by and say hey.
