Updates in the Warm Season

  1. Wow, new beginning here it looks like. I won't complain, I like changes and chances to start fresh.

Well, I have written one post since I took my break on my story blog, I have another one in the works and I anticipate updates to be slower, mostly because I'd rather not feel pressured to update every day. :) I will have more posts coming for my other blogs as well, those take a bit more time as things need to happen and I need to feel particular inspiration for them.

As for an update of things going on, my new position is starting to take shape for me. I have started it at least and have learned a bit, but it looks like it'll take some time for the specifics of the position to take shape. I feel a bit more freedom in this position, which is new and interesting, but at the same time I don't feel as useful as I could be right now, but I am sure that will change.

I finally got my garden going this year, still have to plant the seeds but at least I got my plants. I got 4 different types of tomatoes: Roma, Big Boy, Yellow Pear and German Queen. The last two are heirloom types, I hear those are better tasting tomatoes but we'll see later this year. I also am trying pepper plants, one red and one yellow bell type. As I'm a fairly new gardener this should be interesting, I plan on trying to take some notes this year to help me develop. I also got to put some of my compost in it, my wife says it smells good (for compost), it smells like dirt at least, and it had a much darker color than the native soil, which is good. I did purchase some dirt this year to finish up my 2nd bed, but I don't think I'll be buying dirt again and as I build up my garden I'll just fill it with what I'm making.

Probably not the most exciting updates, but that's what's going on and I'm looking forward to it. Oh, and as for more exciting news, I don't think I've mentioned it yet, but we're having a boy.
