Just stumbled upon this: https://www.virtuverse.io/ Crafting preview: > Mining peview: > Some more pics and info can be found on their Twitter: https://twitter.com/virtuverse Seems to be heavily inspired by EU and the company is even located in Gothenburg (https://www.linkedin.com/company/virtuverse/about) Looks interesting, but I don't know how serious they are about it. The CEO guy doesn't seem to have much experience and the information they are sharing is pretty minimal, but who knows..
MA admitting defeat and starting again from scratch? Hmm doesn’t look like it. But yes, interesting concept if they get it up and running.
Signed up, mail seem to be slow, 82 minutes and counting, nothing received. Maybe handled manually? And they have Unreal engine. I might spend a few $ and see what's going on there. If it's going to take them 24 Hours to response, then I will have the feeling that i'm dealing with MF, and probably going to pass. They better ain't be a Muppetshow.
More then 24 Hours waiting here for the email, so it seems that the alpha is closed all ready, so probably we are to late to join that. Would be cool if they take the downloadlink down if it's closed anyway. I didn't read anything, just clicked the download button, filled in e-mail, and waited, so I have to give up waiting for now.
I think the Closed Alpha hasn't started yet. We often get alpha access and pre-release keys for AAA games, so I don't think this would be an issue in this case.
Then let's wait and see if we get a mail somewhere in the future. So far, what I have seen looks not to bad. I would love to try it.
16 people only ... Probably they are under stress atm ;-) Unfortunately all they say at their site is: "Si-Fi, different planets/enviroments, combat, crafting, mining". What about social issues, PvP/PvE, avatar design, choose gender and appearance, clothes (just si-fi armour so far?), only laser weapons, no blades? Did I miss the part of payment? RCE, free with ingame purchases or monthly fee? Sounds more like gamma than beta or alpha to me. Frankly, I wouldn't sign in yet. At the other hand it could become a new "project" like "Project Entropia" once was. The plot looks familiar, as Bruud mentioned. Big question is: can and will they do it better? Let me be devil's advocat: Virtuverse don't have enough seed money, they don't employ enough competent staff and the general plot is pretty incomplete so far. Tbh, here at EP we are a "very special" community. And I am sure all folks from EP would storm immediately such a "project" if it would be different to Entropia Universe at several points. My conspiracy theory is: Virtuverse is an act of revenge of former MA employees ;-) My intention: If they start a good one, I would participate. This includes good information policy, influences at a forum, influences via contact to Virtuverse staff members or direct help with 3D content or at least suggestions. Hint to Virtuverse: Give a special bonus to Entropia Universe converts and members of EP ;-) We would need a new subforum at "Other games and gaming", woudn't we?
Marco is back!? <yay> Not sure if I’d play but will likely sign up just in case it takes off. And I’d only play regularly if any RCE they adopted was fair and transparent. I might even prefer a subscription model with elements of RCE because that might reduce the number of freeloading beggars. No special bonus for ex-EU players because that would lure more of the above than the decent ones. Tighten up scamming, cheating and anti-social behaviour with a zero tolerance policy. Basically use EU as a guide to what not to do and they won’t go far wrong.
I think I did read something about RCE, and withdrawing the money at any time. Time will tell. And basicly I have no problem to start again from scratch and start depo, if they seem to be thrustworthy. As long we, the customers don't get screwed as MF does it time after time. And then ofc the fact, do I want to devote again so much time in this, don't think so, but some basic playing there I wouldn't mind to do. For now I have some
This will be interesting to see how MA responds to the mass exit of its players to go across the street to play a game that mirrors MA in every respect.. would be more interesting if the Planet Partners defect to Virtu Verse . I do hope the Virtu Verse can be trusted and will take the time with transparency with all its updates and bug fixes. Does anyone know what game Engine Virtu Verse is using ???
They'll never get anywhere sweating the rocks like that... besides they forgot to do the hukka dance first....
In some ways it isn't how much or little they have posted on their page. It is WHAT they have posted. Can you see ANY corp bullshit on there? cause I can't. It's all about the plan. They have a "spread the word" competition on twitter to win stuff. There is more info stuff on FB too. PS can you feel it?
Wonder when Mindark's lawyers will come a callin? http://www.planetcalypsoforum.com/f...dark-patents&p=1708228&viewfull=1#post1708228 or, does Mindark already know and is involved... does Mindark have anything to do with the game incubator that the site talks about?
Tbh every game these days are basicly all the same, not sure about this one, but I would say give them some competition. And it seems to be about Method for virtual trading, well I assume if that patent still is in place, there are alot of ways to do it different, can't name it so quick as i'm getting hungry, and going to fix dinner now. And to lazy to brainstorm about that, as i'm not going to dig into that patent.
They might. That said, without looking, I have a feeling MA's stuff is all about, "free to play - but what does go in, can come out". These guys talk of a subscription that wages you. Might be a different enough model to set them aside. I sure hope so. One of MA's biggest problems is that they have little to no direct like-for-like competition (or maybe they do, but they are small enough and get away with enough lack of development that they can carry on sustaining themselves regardless - their biggest safeguard was always not "growing beyond the obscure").
There is quite a bit of info to be found if you look. But I'm not McCormick so don't really feel like posting it all here. This tidbit did amuse me though: I rather liked this too: https://i.gjcdn.net/data/games/6/75/423325/soundtracks/default/overworld_theme_-_preview.mp3
