What a year, and it's just starting!

So, it's been awhile since I posted, but there's so much going on and I feel I can finally share some of it.

First off, I am still waiting to get the solar panels on my house, that project was delayed because of the power company, however it is back on track again so I am hoping soon they will be scheduling the install with me. But if that weren't exciting enough, I've had more good news while waiting for all this to pan out.

So very unexpectedly my work brought us in for a meeting. In the meeting they presented an opportunity to us, they were going to open a Jr. System Admin position and we were going to be able to be the first to apply for it. So, after some careful consideration due to the changes that would come from it, I decided to apply. A week after that I was in another meeting where they were going over the steps that would be taken for the position to come about and then another week after that they were telling me the job responsibilities. Basically, I got the job, however I have to wait a bit before it begins. Unfortunately they need to find a replacement for my current position before I can start my new one, but hopefully that happens soon. So yeah, awesomeness! I wasn't expecting a new position but I will be getting one this year, at least for 6 months, but hopefully for longer after that.

So, along with this good news we have gotten to work on more things in the house. My daughter's new room is painted and the furniture is put together, we have ordered the blinds for her room and in a few weeks we should be moving her from the nursery to her new room which I hope will be very exciting for her. We have also started working on the yard, we've had a lot of warm weather making it easy to start this so soon, and the deck is finally torn down, it was very rotten and needed to go. My next steps will be to work on the garden a bit and get it ready, have a gate built into the fence, move the rocks and begin preparing for a patio to be built. Hopefully that will be done before my 30th birthday in July.

All this, along with the new baby coming, makes for a very exciting year so far for me. I know there is a lot more in store for me this year, many things to learn and a lot to do, but it should all be good and move us further towards the goals we have. :)
