What would you do with a 330k ATH?

    I would,

Keep about 50k in game for me and my wife to have more fun with. (maybe some more toys or upgrades to the ships)
Pay off our remaining consumer debt. (almost done already)
Fill the heating oil tanks for winter.
Pay off a chunk of the mortgage.
Take the wife for a cruise.

RAZER Custom title ... uh ...

Good question and to be honest something I have not thought about yet. Will give it some thought and come back to you on that.

  3. I would keep it all in the game every single dime, I would help out some new players and the ones in need No second thoughts about that. To me the withdraw button does not exist only the deposit.

Not sure what I'd spend it on but not a single PEC would stay in EU.

Then again, one needs to buy a ticket to win the lottery, and I haven't spent any real amount of money in EU for longer than I can remember.

When I got my 81+K ATH on 4/2/08 ... right after I calmed down, and before logging out of the game and posting my thread at the then Entropia Forum, I hit the withdraw button, and it only took MA 20 days total to do a direct deposit into my bank account of $8,329 USD ... the timing couldn't have been more perfect.

I didn't hesitate, because I knew if I had left it in the game, I would have lost it, because even investments are a gamble, which is something I think we're understanding more and more, and is quite sad.

The way that MA changes this game at will, without consideration that some players are making an effort to build a business, should really scare investors away. I know too many who are quietly pulling out.

So what would I spend $30+K USD on ... give myself some more breathing room to work on my writing.

If it was us, we'd pull out enough to pay us back for the money we have put into SFE over the years (figures accurately recorded) and after that we would put the rest back into the business in order to expand it further.

  9. Just think how much health you could get with that amount, I see it more as a game then an investment portal
My goal is to chip in health implants and get god like health 10,000 health hunt with no armors very eco

250-300hp and mod fap would be cheaper and more fun :)
(not sure that you could reach that with 330k though)

  11. 25% to newcomer kits and sponsoring newcomer events :)
    25% into skill upgrades :)
50% back into decay play :)

Respite for a few years of play without needing to deposit.

Hmm.... well my 2 little deeds give me all I tend to typically need for what I do exploring. I guess I'd maybe have a little flutter on something cool in game though, not sure what. Actually though my skill level would prevent me from buying anything too big I think. A little shop might be cool though... but really I'd want one of the ones in Morkels Cavern (name right?) and that doesn't exist anymore (DAMN YOU MA! - sorry had to be said).

Hmm comedy things, it would be nice to hire some 3d artists and send them over to Sweden to work for free for MA to get them to rebuild minopolis right and put appartments in at PA ;)

What would be really nice would be to buy and develop next island but it isn't enough for that.

Most likely I'd leave a little game, I like the idea of a little newbie fund and take the rest out. I'd maybe use as a depo on a house or just live off it or use it to start investing insomething.

  14. When i would get that 331K HoF i would withdraw everything and be very happy i could close my EU adventure break-even.

  15. When we sold the Terminator + Supremacy Armor in 2005 (380k(?) PED devided by 2 ofc), I cashed out at once, knowing, this would be my only chance ever, to pull out a nice profit out of this universe.
We won in 2005 and I joined in 2004. So I played for about 12 months+ and already thought this way.

Dub bought a finder and found the rugaritz, I kept 30k for crafting, ATHed 2 times while crafting and lost everything then. (no problem, I was playing for free anyway)

I bought a jungle stalker then, to camp globsters with Venus...for ages...to get some globals.
No profit. No ATH. It wasnt a big loss and I enjoyed it. (maybe because I was still playing for free?) :P

Anyway, ATHs neither make you automatically break even, nor do they generate a profit. (promised)
But an ATH makes you feel a little better at least. ;p

Hell, every global can be a good feeling, even if you lost 500 PED on a hunt already.

So, what would I have done with 300k in 2013 ? (if there would have never been a Terminator)
Cash it out, to minimal the loss of nearly 10 years of playing Entropia. (holy sh!t)

Today I still play for free, but I dont reallly play that much anymore...and if I play, the "losses" are beyond humiliating.

Selling skills ? Too annyoing, too time consuming. And what for ?

Exactly the same, here. Even considered liquidating many of my assets and just continuing unamped mining and low level hunting.

  17. think about if I wanted to withdrawal and wait 6+ months for MA to actually let it get to my real world bank with a huge percentage going in to their grubby paws in the process.

Do you still have those 8k USD or you lost them in RL :)

I don't "lose" money in RL, I use it wisely, and what I do with my personal finances is no one's business. Hope that answers your question. My ATH was 5-1/2 years ago, where shortly thereafter I went strictly media and continued writing about our universe instead of "playing" in it because it became far too costly to play in the manner I did previously when I got to play much longer, and stay on course with my goals.

When everything started changing and I could no longer play for the same length of time for the amount of money invested in order to achieve my goals, I had to make choices, because I shouldn't have to go out and shoot punies with low-level weapons when I had worked hard to achieve the skills I already had. As far as I'm concerned, the game has become a money pit, with far less bang for the buck, and if there are those who want to sink large sums of money into the game and don't care about loss, then they have made a choice too when it comes to their entertainment.

I've been associated with the game for 8-1/2 years now, and I shouldn't have to resort to playing like a new player - to me, that's not fair progression, when every time you turn around, MA is thinking up even more ways to extract money from the players to pay for their poor management. If you do it right the first time around, you don't waste time and money, but MA can't grasp that concept. Every damn release is a mess, and they have ways of presenting updates to the players to hold them at bay as much as possible, and there are those who just go along with the program and make excuses for MA either because of investments already made, or because they're addicted to the game.

I had made a decision yesterday that I wasn't going to write my "2013 EU State of Mind" but I think I should, because there are things that this community needs to be aware of, and right now, I just don't give a rat's ass about this game or the developers, because the negative reputation it has in the real world absolutely has merit - perhaps it takes the outsiders and a bit of critical thinking and analysis to report just what others are too blind to see, or perhaps accept..

Sorry for getting carried away, but doing so reminded me that I owe the current EU State of Mind to this community, because it makes me sick to know what I know and how much advantage is being taken of the players. However, there will always be those who will blindly support the developers and this game without "really" giving any critical thought to it. A lot of people got smart and left the game - I got smart almost 6 years ago when I went strictly media to just write and report what was going on, and not play.

How did I get to this place about the game? When you read my "2013 EU State of Mind" you'll understand and then after it's published, I'm done. I'll publish it at MSM, but I'll also publish the full version here at EP, because I am considering taking MSM down - there's really no reason for me to keep it up. I will be focusing on my RL writing (finally), and have other plans for a different website.

Sorry again for the length of my post and my rant, but AxeMurderer asking me if I still had the $8K USD I withdrew from my ATH caused an explosion. Even 5-1/2 years ago, I knew enough that there was no way I was going to keep it in the game and waste it like so many do, but it makes MA happy.

I am now off to write after I make myself some tea, I've been sick the past couple of days and still not feeling 100% - it's the kind of sick you don't get from a bug, so it's a bit harder to deal with.

I wish everyone to have what they hope to get out of this game - this community deserves more.

  20. My thoughts exactly, especially the bold part. That's why I haven't logged in and they haven't gotten a dime from me since last March. I'm off topic from the main thread, but MS9 said it so well I just had to give her a thumbs up.
