Whats up with all the Rocktropia hate?

I dont personally hate ROCKTropia - haven't been up there, which means, I can't really have an opinion about the place as such.

What I dislike though, is:

1) I have to spend 40 peds to get up and 40 again to get down. It's a choise of course, but I can't really afford that atm.
2) I have only seen some of the new mobs from screen shots and videos and to be frank with you, looks too much teenage-boy'ish for me! I don't need to kill a mob were the boobs are about to fall out and were you can't even see were the thong is ending ... It makes me really disappointed - but again, it's a choise and it doesn't make me 'hate' ROCKTropia
3) You also have to pay auction fee etc. the same as if you were on CND and CP which makes me have the feeling, that this is just another expensive place were my game play are blocked because of fees and extra expenses.

Some people, I know, has been hoping at least for something 'new' to discover and not only the same old wolf in a new hide.

Personally I have a feeling of what to expect from MA after 6 years of playing, and I didn't expect anything speciel this time either - but I must admit I was a little baffled to see the transportation costs - it's 15 peds more than going to CND...

I also believe people are in their rights here only few days after the release, to show their disappointment with the place - after months/years of waiting - but I will also say, that you have to give it a chance or at least try and keep your desatisfaction in one thread only ;)

I can imagine NEVERDIE has been excited to release the place - unfortunately he probably have had to lie under the rules of MA and what they can and will offer - and as long as he is not REAL independent (even though they clame the planet is) - everything is still going after the good old loot-system or lack of same, items, tools, weapons, types of mobs and game play. Nothing new under the one million suns in the Universe tbh. - and with that experience I can understand some peoples frustrations.

 

I personally just find it too childish/stupid. I get enough of Neverdie ego shoved down my throat on Calypso already and now to watch people globalling on "NEVERDIE dragons", "Video Vixens Drunk" and other crap like that? No thanks.


Not to mention absolutely no new real content. Where are rocktropia specific tools, armors, faps, ores, enmatters, loot, clothes, professions, skills, etc, etc,?

 

Ah yes, another thing ...

And that Video Vixens (????!!!!) Drunk (????!!?????) is the boobie-thong thing I believe ... Next we know is the release of WankerIsland...

 

Well, i have been there for a few days now and with soc member ofc. That helps cos I dont feel so lonelly and we cover each others 6 s on TP runs. We ran into a Cluster-F*ck of Neverdie Dragons and Evey took some Vids and Pics. Yet to be posted here later.

Rocktropia at this moment, is NOT a place for noobs and especially with low level gear. Some sights are beautifull. Besides ND is promoted he needs not promote himself. I know him personally and he is a very nice genuine person, just ask Moogle. He is friendly and helpfull and could be your next door family guy.

Patience is the key here, give Rocktropia time to grow into its own. There will be miners, hunters and crafters and RT will have its own vibrant economy too.

TBH, Dragons, decomposing zombies, werwolfs,vampires, dogs, Mutant like mobs reminicent of demons, with a backdrop of a post-acopalyptic planet, does give me the feeling I am in Hell. Not to mention a stage for giants and gothic architecture here and there.

Lets just say.....i hope Next Island will be reminicent of Heaven.


Just for the sake of intrest Stave. At what Ped-budget do you currently play the game? You dont need to be acurate, just give us an estimation pls:)

I actually also find it quite 'fun' how NEVERDIE named mobs after himself. I don't mind things named after people (how could I after Lykke Wooden Chest ) - but I would never name things after myself tbh ...

 

on a personal note: I must say I really like Rocktropia.. as Neverdie did mention a few times that not all of the ideas have been implemented yet but they will be up - time is patience.

Exploring the planet and just getting a feel for it is what ppl should do beside complaining. It seems that people that complain have really nothing better to do. If you don't like the game then leave it. I'm no depositor and when i do it is very little and it is every once in a great while. But i look at this World and at Calypso as a world to make new friends and for entertainment.. why put 20USD in to another MMO game when you realy dont' get nothing out of it. (or if you spent 20USD at a movie just to watch it for 2 hours - wow here you can at least hunt if you like ) Where as with this game if you wanted to you can Chip out(sell your soul) and sell everything you own and withdraw it all. Wow at least you can do that with this game unlike other MMO games.

so STop complaining and just enjoy it as an entertainment or pleasure and meeting new ppl from around the world. And stop Raining on My fun Besides your negative addituted is only going to make you look Ugly.


Rocktropia Rocks and will continue to Rock as time goes on.

 

For hunting the cost to kill a mob on Rocktropia is far higher than on Calypso due to higher decay and you also get hit with TT loot. So it makes little sense to hunt unless you have a very good set up...

Problem is it's been launched too early with some of the systems completely missing. Since they only launched the barebones basics of hunting, mining, crafting that has implications for loot. Loot is mainly just tt...

There are a few other factors like Tp's way too far apart and not enough of them...

The main problem is they launched it too early. They should have launched it once they have some of the other systems working then it would have had the wow factor and the little annoyances people would have lived with...

 

meh evthough im stuck up there untill i want/can depo it is not a bad place to be.
The new axes look wicked and the shotguns are plain funny, u can scan videovixens to get animal scan skills, sweat them then efficiently kill ehm with tt items no armor or like me pixy.

Ofc tp running can be hard and i agree that it is not realy a place to be starting out as a oj (also becouse all u can get in armor from the system is setler in the trade terminal :D )

 

Cant say I hate it, but I see no need to pay 40 ped each way to see mobs that are made for teenage boys to perve over and others that come from teen fiction ( Where is the originality? ) Yes Im sure there are other things to see and I may possibly go there some day... but for now I dont see the point

I dont hate Rocktropia. I'm just sincerely pissed off.

I payed 4 bucks to beta test a new map.

And I need to pay 4 more to leave the beta testing.

Anyway, I sent a support ticket suggesting a better way to handle customers/clients/users new to Rocktropia.

If I did hate the place, I'd just be asking for a refund.

Why dont you quite and go to Disney world in Florida, no diff, other than that, this is cheaper.

 

I suppose you weren't referring to me as I am currently on the Rock and was at the time of the post too.

Try at least to be polite not need to call people gutless or hyprocrites.

I have now got all the TP's up there now - been up since it opened running about and shooting at stuff.

I even killed a Video Vixen Android Slut Voluptuous, and can safely say that NEVERDIE is now confirmed as being male. And 14 years of age.

Some nice scenery up there, even a Welsh flag. But nothing yet that "rocks" my socks to hang around a bit

 

I must admit that Ive been quit negative and that was prolly not very nice in the first place and a kind of "reflex" reaction. Must agree with Shinobi that it needs time to grow.

I was completely surprised in a negative way by the settings like the type of mobs which could be very well the result of my own wrong expectations.

The place looks cool definitly. Think its even better optimised then Calypso in terms of scenery engine. Really enjoyed the music. It just didnt feel right for me. That is just a matter of taste I guess. I dont hate it, dont like it right now. But hey, cant make everybody happy all the time:)

And indeed, if you dont like it: dont go there
