I stopped wearing shoes and hats along time ago, since they unequip themselves automatically when I put on armor. This policy makes it less fun to play. NOW they unequip my Mindforce Implant when I visit Ancient Greece. I would understand if they just DISABLED it, but since it cost me PED to reinstall it every time, I choose to not go to Ancient Greece any more. Again this policy makes it less fun to play. Both of these are easy to fixes and would encourage long time players like me. I did submit a support case suggesting this too.
fuega - Good luck on that support case submission. Don't think it'll go anywhere. Here's why... For the shoes and hats, I think the designers are going for a semblance of realism. In other words few Bronco Billies can manage to put armor helmet over a western hat. From a technical stand-point, I'm sure the head area has room for "a" hat or "a" helmet, one at a time, based on the way the avatars are built. For time traveling back to Ancient Greece, I think once again the game designers felt limiting what could be taken back would help level the playing field, thus any modern powered devices are thus disabled. I view it sort of like in the Terminator movies, where only living tissue can pass through the time portal. Still to have a laser rifle against a Minotaur would be cool. And again from the technical stand-point, I really feel the main goal of time travel was to immerse the player into a new world, full of unique challenges, and relying on whole new weaponry and tactics. An ambitious goal...and time will tell if we see more progress in this area. I know that's the plan. Good luck!
I totally agree that the semblance of realism makes it better. My point is that instead of uninstalling my mindforce implant, why can't they just disable it like all the other modern items in my inventory. Unlike clothes that it just takes a few pec to put back on and no special tools, I have to go purchase an inserter and pay about 4 ped to use it each time. I really like Ancient Greece, it is cool, and I would really like to visit all the time, so I was disappointed that it costs me that much to visit. I realize that 4 ped isn't much for some players, but I try to play as economically as I can so I can play as much as possible. Please don't think that I am a trouble-maker, I just hope that this suggestion goes somewhere and makes the game better.
the removal of the implant is far more annoying than shoes and hats. it costs 200 times more to reinsert the implant. since all the chips are disabled anyways, the removal of the implant is completely unnecessary. worse still, the fix is probably just flipping a flag to say the implant is allowed. it boggles the mind to wonder why this hasn't already been done, or what possible justification exists for why the situation should be as it is now.
fuega, I totally agree with the implant removal cost being unnecessary. (And disabling--vs. removing--the feature could still allow that element of realism.) Don't know if that's a MindArk thing or Next Island thing. I suspect MindArk since the MindForce chips/devices work universally the same on all planets. And I'm not sure if bringing this to the attention of the developers would influence their desire to change the implant function. Great suggestion you bring up though. :) Really.
the mindforce implant should not be removed upon entering Greece anymore..... it should be gray / disabled....... i was sure that was with the MA patch about a month ago.... i guess i can look it up.... should be in the patch notes... as for wearing clothes and armor.... i never understood the look, but to each their own.... hats work with face masks, just not full helm's.... if the game allowed a hat to be worn under a full helm, it would be ridiculous....
Yeah, good things actually come of suggestions sometimes. I haven't tested it, but I will take Chuck Jarrdhead Wholrey's word for it that it has been fixed and just disables now. I am really looking forward to going back to Greece. Thanks for listening to my suggestion. btw, my new favorite fap and sword now come from there too.
Lies, Lies, Lies, Bad information Mr. Chuck Jarrdhead Wholrey, I just tried to go to Ancient Greece, and I had my implant installed, and it said at the TP that it would "unequip" it along with my modern clothes and armor. "Unequiping" my clothes and armor takes them off, sooo, it will take it off it just like it did last time I went to Greece. Unless you want to give me 4 ped to reinstall it every time I want to visit Ancient Greece, I am not going there! This is a really bad thing that needs to be fixed. Why can't they just disable it? I was really looking forward to doing the Minotar quests. Oh well, NI doesn't need my ped, I will just spend it elsewhere. Generally good job on NI, but it just takes one bad flaw to drive players away.
The Patch i was referring to was a MA patch for all... anytime equipment was not allowed it was grey'd out, and would not be usable <not removing mindforce>.... for greece to be different is news to me, but i have never gone there myself.... i don't need to visit a ped hole, sorry about the bad intel on that 1... may just be an old script since NI dosent update anything...
