When to use and when not to use a TP chip

  1. Hi;

Going by my experience so far, the following invariably happens, or at least most of the time, when you use a TP-chip to get to a mob location - especially when you team hunt.
You simply end up in the middle of a hurd of mobs and get killed:eek:. The result is that any team hunt quickly becomes a none-starter, especially if you end up being killed again after the subsequent TP chip jaunt from the revive.
Because of this, I have for the last few weeks only TP-chipped to get myself out of a problem situation if I really have to - I now never TP chip to a mob location. This is all well and good and it works for me when solo, certainly it is less risky; however most of the players that I've ever teamed with allmost out of habit use TP chipping to get to a mob location, and basically trying to persuade them not to is really a losing battle, because many think that saving those few extra minutes is worth the risk of getting killed; or because they think it's cool to TP chip eveywhere.
So my point I guess is, why do many ppl insist on using a tp chip all the time when team hunting, or most of the time, not knowing what they will end up in?

There are more reasons to TP jump then hunting. As a miner I find that when resources run out, if I TP jump to another location more times then not they will pick up again. The thing I find now is I have the skills to live through most of these jumps. It is also quite exhilarating to find yourself surrounded. Shoot...fap fap...shoot etc etc lol. When hunting try to fall short of the mobs. If you ran to them in the first place, then if you jump short of where you were you should be safe. I hope this helps a little.

This picture is the worst jump I have ever made. Check the red dots.

  3. You find as you get a feel for the lay of the land that you understand where spawn points are betterm and therefore avoid landing zones where there are a concentration of mobs.

Another tip is once you;ve fired your tp chip, immediately fap like mad, and even before your screen comes back you will heal the 'sneaky' hits that the local mobs will deliver.

When hunting in a team you have generally come through a safe location to attack a bunch of mobs, or may have even cleared a path. The trick is landing accurately in a known safe zone from when you died. Pressing P *before* you click 'Yes' on the you have died dialog helps because you have your previous position kept in the chat window :)

Finally, TPing everywhere drives up your phsycotropy skills and then your accuracy goes up - take the time to choose your landing site accurately and you can show off by arriving back in the middle of your team (LOL)

Maybe my botmaster knows the answer. One more tip is once you;ve fired your tp chip immediately fap like mad and even before your screen comes back you will heal the 'sneaky' hits that the local mobs will deliver. The past is history, the future a mystery. Today is a gift,
that's why it is called "the present".Thanks for the info. Are you still located in ?
I'm glad you find this amusing.

Thankyou Talkerbot for that insightful comment.

Using a focus chip helps build skills that also help your range and accuracy on the TP chip.

If there is water near your destination, it can often be helpful to TP into the water ( less chance of mobs ) and then run the rest of the way.

If you know what type of mob is in the destination area, and/or if you have high evade or strong armour, then jumping into the mobs might not be a big issue. If I were on a team hunt in unfamiliar areas, I would probably run instead of TP jumping, to minimise the risk of a mobbed landing. Also if you are hunting with a nice team, the other members can assist you to survive the landing.

  6. Hi, thanks to all, and sorry for late reply.

Yes, if the mobs turn out to be not too difficult, then I would of course fap and shoot, but when you land virtually on top of a gang of fauxangius, fapping with a fap 50 doesnt make much difference:o. Also, if there are no red dots on the scope to begin with, which is often the case when a new batch is about to spawn, then you won't know exactly where to place the pointer before jumping - and obviously you have to jump in the direction that the team is going. I just think it's bad of 'the system' that you are not given even that much leeway; that it does not ensure you dont jump into a pile of major mobs when your team hunting - if your playing solo then its not too much of a problem; but when teaming, a disaster.
However I didn't know there was a skilling process with TP chips like there is with everything else; now I know... I'll certainly get a focus chip and TP chip more often to build up my phsycotropy skills.
