And that last and most annoying bug is fixed too. Which means all issue introduced with the upgrade are fixed now and additional features have been added. Go edit some wiki pages, it's easier than ever. ;) Pages in the guide are always a good start: http://www.entropiaplanets.com/wiki/Entropia_Universe_Guide
We'll now start the 2nd iteration of a couple of major wiki updates. Again features will break and be fixed in the coming hours/days/weeks. The update will not really change much on the front-end but will ultimately enable nice features in the near future. EDIT: Hm, it proceeds much smoother than expected.
Alrighty, except a few tiny issues everything is back to normal now. I said the update would bring mainly improvements on the back-end (which it did) but there's one exception to highlight: Search has been improved significantly, example: http://www.entropiaplanets.com/w/index.php?search=welter The series of major updates isn't done yet and we might manage to implement the next one later this week already. It's the most tricky, with the biggest impact, probably breaking a lot and requiring adjustments that may take months to be finished...
Alrighty, this round is done too. Nothing remains broken and we have a few new features. One or 2 smaller upgrades are scheduled but these will be for specific features and are not expected to break much. When they are done we are through with all of the backend upgrade potentially breaking stuff and the purpose of this thread.
Starting today we'll implement another set of changes, some major and many minor. Most again on the backend shouldn't be noticed from a user perspective but also at least one major that should be noticed (even almost in the true sense of the word ).
Thanks, I didn't do anything with the look, credits go mainly @emorgan and some @RAZER. And good you bumped this thread, wiki is currently under heavy redesign, so strange behaviour might occur. Any comments on the new look would be really appreciated.
Today I did a little test with the teleporter tables. Right now we have separate tables for teleporters, creatures etc.for the different planets. The idea was to have just 1 table for each of them and have a filter (or multiple) so people can filter out what they want to see. The link below points you to basically a 'proof of concept' Teleporter table that as of yet only has a filter for the planet. We can add more if needed, I was just wondering what it is you would like to filter the TP list on. Give it a go, and let me know http://www.entropiaplanets.com/wiki/Special:RunQuery/Teleporters?wpRunQuery=true (give if a few seconds to load, it needs to get a lot of data from the database) Please note that this is not done, and some styling has to be done, but I would like to have some input from the community to see what is needed/wanted.
Are there different 'sjablonen' for weapons in the wiki, i tried added some info on breer p1a, but noticed the page was quite different from star stunna weapon, and also the edited values don't shop in the overview page?
We are in a bit of a transition fase here, so some old ideas and some new ideas are floating around. Seems the P1a is still one of those old idea's and old technology. I made the P1a page for you to add your data too, http://www.entropiaplanets.com/wiki/Item:Breer_P1a Note that that is the Unlimited version, if you want the limited one please go to this page and add or edit the weapon you want: http://www.entropiaplanets.com/wiki/Planet_Calypso_Weapons Click the little [E] icon next to the weapon to edit and click [Add] on the top right to add a new weapon If could be that the data you add are not right away in the table, that will either take a while or you can click on the clock on the top right to refresh the cache
Yes, it's that time of the year again... ;) Starting today we'll roll out some wiki upgrades and improvements, first mainly back end related but afterwards also new features for editing and such. The whole process might take a while (weeks), there might be disruptions, and worst case loss of a couple of edits.
Alrighty, first round of platform & back end improvements is done, faster than expected and little is broken. So next we'll be looking into features and changes one can really SEE ;) Oh, btw, off-topic, there are new forum features too!
well one bit of that 'feature' is gone already, but the other are still there. Working on getting that solved as well, if only I knew where to look :)
Alrighty, the first new feature is in now and it's simply a modern notification system! Just a rough overview: When you are logged you'll see in a little "balloon" with a number next to your user name in the top menu bar indication that you have X notifications. Clicking the balloon will display the notifications. For example, you get messages when one of your edits is reverted, when someone writes on you talk page, when a page you watch is edited, when someone thanks you for an edit, etc etc etc. Speaking of thanking people for edits, that can be done from the history of each page for each edit, check out the PA history for example: http://www.entropiaplanets.com/w/index.php?title=Port_Atlantis&action=history There are a couple of settings available for notifications, for example which types you get per email or on wiki, you can also switch notification completely off, and more. You can access your settings, when logged in, via the "Preferences" tab in the top menu bar of following this direct link: http://www.entropiaplanets.com/wiki/Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-echo You want to try it out? Go edit a page and I'll thank you for that, pages belonging to the guide are always great candidates for random edits: http://www.entropiaplanets.com/wiki/Entropia_Universe_Guide
Another day, another feature, this time a rather 'nerdy' one. We finally have basic Lua support on the front end. This is the final major cornerstone of the "tools phase" outlined in the past-present-future thread (fuck, did we really achieve everything outlined in that 2.5 years old image around the time specified in that image? We should have announced a citizenship system or something ) Lua scripting also enables much more complicated templates editable by everyone willing to work with Lua. Btw, Lua is still a wide-spread scripting language for games (guess EU is missing on that list), so if you want to get into game development learning Lua actively on the old shabby wiki might be beneficial ;) There's the Hello World module: http://www.entropiaplanets.com/wiki/Module:HelloWorld And there the reference manual: http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:Scribunto/Lua_reference_manual .
Great work to all those who are involved, I can finally delete the entropedia bookmark. May I suggest one thing? Can we have new loot tables from VU 15? Having one old for pre VU 15 as a historical data base and a totally one would be awesome.
