MSM WoF 2012 - Stage 1, Stage 2 & Qualifier Totals

This annual hunting competition continues to pit country against country in a fight to the finish. Stage 1, and part one of a two-part qualifier found Sweden in the lead, with Finland, Australia, USA, and DACH fillimg out the top 5. Stage 2, and part two of the qualifier, known as the Metal Weekend and Robot Round, was held on September 8th and 9th.

The WoF founder, Oscar “Hurrikane” SkyQuake reported that the Robot Round wasn’t especially kind to participants, and many found it hard to match their performance from Stage 1. When the dust settled, it was clear that Sweden was able to keep their impressive lead, with Team USA, Team Italy, and Team DACH the only teams who were able to better their scores from Stage 1.

After calculating the scores from Stages 1 and 2, the top 5 countries still remain the same, only in different positions, other than Team Sweden who is hanging on to first place with a respectable lead. Unfortunately, Team Amethera was unable to pull a team together for Stage 2, and ultimately pulled out of the competition. Therefore, Hurrikane found it necessary to make a few changes.

Originally, only the top 3 scoring teams would advance to Stage 4 and by-pass Stage 3, leaving the rest of the teams to battle it out in Stage 3. However, as a result of Amethera now being out of the competition, the top 6 scoring teams were able to by-pass Stage 3 and take a break until Stage 4 begins. Those teams are – Sweden, USA, Finland, DACH, Australia and BeNeLux.[/FONT][/FONT]

The remaining 8 teams are two-thirds of the way through Stage 3 already, and it will be interesting to see how they will rank at the end, and who will advance to Stage 4. One thing is for certain, the teams are fighting hard, and they had an interesting line-up of creatures to hunt in their effort to better their scores.

We again remind you that with each Stage, there are also Sponsors who own land areas that offer mobs on the list for that particular Stage of the WoF tournament. It is encouraged to hunt on these land areas because it helps to build the prize fund, even though players are free to hunt at their locations of choice.

After putting forth tremendous effort, the 8 remaining teams who didn’t get a pass to Stage 4, are busy battling it out to maintain or better their scores to stay in the competition, and to cushion themselves from elimination in future rounds. In the meantime, the total qualifier scores have been revealed.

As mentioned earlier, the 8 teams who did not get a pass through to Stage 4 are two-thirds of the way through Stage 3 and battling it out to survive. Who will stand victorious and move on, and whose country flag will be sitting on the sidelines through the rest of the competition in a fight for the coveted trophy.
