You have changed so much, I dont even know who you are anymore.

  1. You have changed so much, I dont even know who you are anymore.

I dont say this for the 1st time, I wont repeat this for the last time.
But this truly starts to become a useless fight for the spirit of the original entropia.
A fight that cant be won, it seems.

    Can it ?

The story, the immersive landscape, the music...everything felt like awesome from the very beginning.

    That was 2004.

Far away from the original plans of a 3D ebay, a plan that I havent even heard of until 2008/2009.
Which was the original concept idea of entropia btw. A 3D-ebay.
An e-commerce platform. Thank good it has not yet happened.

Many people told me that they turned off the music over the years, as it was too repetetive. For me these tracks were an essential part of Calypso. I never played with the music turned off. I never listened to other music while playing PE.

The good music is gone anyway.

Remember the guy, always sitting at the Hadesheim Central Teleporter ?
Remember the avatars that you met out in the wilderness, while exploring the immersive landscape. They were always up for a talk or even a fair trade. :)
(not just pvp, reselling or scamming)

All that is left for me today, is a random login per month. Maybe two, or no logins at all.
The forums seem to be more silent then ever. (not just because of the so called summer-hole)

    But I cant leave.

Terriffic, I can still enjoy mining and hunting in a team these days, but the exploring part and the story that is left, is nothing but service-centers. Service-centers that wants you to buy ammo and survey-probes.

Vehicles from the 80s, taming dis-continued. Stir that with Feffox.

Even if Im no longer a steady PE gamer, Arkadia and Celeste Quarry did the right introduction to Arkadia...very good job !
I really enjoyed that planet and explored it for quiete some time.

I wanted to believe in Cyrene, but it felt dead, right from the beginning of its soft-launch.
What happend to "choose races" or "join races to fight others" ?

Quests everywhere. Quests that noone of the original MindArk team ever wanted. But I have to admit, some quests were cool.

I hunted/mined here, I hunted/mined there, but never again, the immersive feeling of the past returned.

Exploring ? Where ? Miniopolis or the old woods of Hadesheim, even Hadesheim itself was worth exploring everytime I went there. Even if it was dead empty every f*cking time. And even if you knew about all the areas on old calypso, the alienated feeling was always present. *goosebumps*

The alienated feeling is gone though.

The old immersive landscapes were always worth exploring, as they were designed for that reason. With Amethera beeing added, the strange feeling started to invade my thoughts. Gigantic, empty areas, with nothing really special to offer.

In todays Entropia, all other planets, with their so called "points of interest" or huge buildings, have nothing special to offer either, but gigantic empty 3D rooms. And gigantic empty plains, filled with nothing. Still, it feels worse then 2004 to me.

Rocktropia and Next Island ? I collected the freebies and stopped exploring after some hours already. I mean, wtf ? How could that possibly even happen ?

All in all I really miss the diversity. CryEngine took over. Palm trees and water everywhere. Far Cry anyone ?

Calypso mobs on other planets ? Hunting chimpansees, policemen and punks ? Lysterium everywhere ?

    Interstellar space-ore-trading ? With Lyst ? Hello ?!

I enjoyed hunting spacemobs for some nights though, but other then that, thats it about space. A gigantic, empty pvp area.

The only thing with diversity is loot. You cant complain here. There is so much f*cking different loot, that noone really cares about all of it. Result, 101% in markup.

Do we really need 100 different ways to heal btw. ?

"Project Entropia" died long ago. And it still gets kicked with feet.

The old republic gave up and the empire took over.
All that is left, is the "I put money in here and I have the possibility to take it back out...uh yea and it comes bundled with the CryEngine 2!"

The part the saddens me most is, that I cant turn away. It is like an accident. An amusement park on fire. Would you look away while your favourite attractions are burning down to the ground ?

I like and dislike the avatar details of today at the same time.
But we all were a "one of a kind" in 2004. And that was really impressive.
    Hell, it was awesome !!!

Today there are hundreds of barbie-plastic-look avatars, all looking way too similar.

The spirit got taken away and there is noone left, that could possibly treat some of these critical wounds, before they become infected.

    Or is there ?

  2. I would love to log in and play the EU it was, And has for space they might as well recode it and disable space for a while because it does appear to be broken their will always be bugs no matter what.
I can turn away tho I play other games on steam network, even if I came back to EU with the state its in I would only bite it in its ass (wink wink cheats).

I can't remember when the lat VU was it seems like months without a VU recent events have been a smoke screen AKA ahh the egg.

Sorry for a neg post but its the way I feel right now.

  3. Puck

    Puck Puck

Yes, it's like someone bulldozing the home where you grew up and then built a convenience store over it.

Still, the community, the quality PPs (cough, Arkadia, cough), and the "potential" are what keep me coming back.

I really miss precrytropia, but I'm finding new things to enjoy with the some of the updates.

    Hang in there, Mc!
