Beacon Missions Basics
Beacons Missions are a basic system of Instances.
How to get Robot Beacons
- Robot Beacons can be found mining
- Robot Beacons are supposed to be found only in areas with Robot Spaceships hovering in the air
- This is a rare "out of the ordinary event"
- The Robot Beacon will just pop up in a loot window
- New beacons for old beacon owners
To give participants a chance to try out and become familiar with the format of the new Beacon Missions, complimentary Level 2 Robot Beacon items will be distributed to participants possessing any of the old beacon items. For example, if an avatar has one Level 4 beacon and one Level 6 beacon in storage, they will receive two complimentary Level 2 beacons.
How to prepare for Beacon Missions
- Before doing Beacon Missions with Beacons worth hundreds of PEDs it is recommended to try the Jennifer's Island Training Beacon Mission
- Beacon mission should be done in team, team size depending on the level of the beacons and skills/equipment of the team members
- On beacon missions you will encounter robots, make sure your armor fits their damage types
- Make sure you have enough ammo, a healing tool can't be wrong either
How to do Beacon Missions
- The Robot Beacon shows a map location where a crashed robot ship can be found, go to this location.
- Activate the gate
- To enter the instance operate the Signature Analyzer
- Wait until all members are inside, the timer starts when the first door inside the ship it opened
- Team members can now exit and enter the beacon mission area (Note: A player must be a member of the beacon team in order to re-enter).
- Attention when entering the actual combat area, you might encounter a multitude of traps
- Laser Barriers, these can be disabled by shooting the laser emitters at the barrier
- Electric Mines, can be killed by shoting them
- Proximity Mines, can be killed by shoting them
- An electric field, causing 1 damage in Vigilante Armor + 6a Armor Platings
- Another danger are Exploding barrels, they only explode when you shoot them but make sure you shoot them from distance and no team mate is closeby, they cause Area of Effect Damage and probably can also be used to do damgate to creatues (they are usually placed near mob if you shoot them they will explode and do AOE dmg to mobs)
- there are checkpoints marked by a blue spiral
- You can die during the mission and you will revive at the last secured checkpoint
- There's a 30 minutes timer to get to the instance boss and kill it
- There seems to be no need to kill all creatures on the way to the boss
- The boss appears after you'e killed the creatures in the boss area
- After the boss has been killed there's a 5 minutes time limit to loot the boxes
- There seems to be a total of 8 Storage Containers (boxes) on each beacon mission
- If the team is somehow disbanded or you are kicked from the team after entering the beacon area, you can still open containers and receive loot.
- Loot from containers is now automatically shared equally between all members who have entered the beacon area.
- Some containers hold more loot than others. Make sure to find and open all of the containers to receive the maximum possible loot!
- All team members no longer need to visit the last room to be able to open containers
- After the 5 minutes time-out you revive at the gate to the ship where you started the mission
- In the end there is a scoreboard with the following info:
- Time to complete the mission
- Looted boxes/total boxes
- Total Enemies killed
- Enemies killed by each member
