Remember I only play there when PED is out in Entropia :) There is a new more advanced range of vehicles being developed for the Survival World which use the capabilities of the 3d physx engine included with Torque-3d. That is about all I know sorry. The Survival world is completely different to the current Alpha world. ~ 500 x Sar-Main zones which equates to a little more than roughly 9x Eudoria in size inc. the water area.

Since there are no teleporters & teleporter chips in Afterworld at this stage, they are very important for getting around on a land-mass that will be very large in size. So no they will not just be a looking cool thingy :D All vehicles have specific uses as do the player built & operated corporation facilities. One such facility being the fuel refinery & repair stations owned and operated by participants specifically to support vehicles. As you can imagine, you will need vehicles to transport around the 500kgs stack(s) of resources you gather up from harvesting, hunting and underground mining in different areas as do you need them for visiting oil wells & pumps to pickup crude to take back to your built corporation fuel refinery & vehicle repair service station ... The attack buggies and mining run SUVs are self explainatory. I guess you will have to wait and see on the functionality & useability of vehicles once they are released with weight limits and the new very large survival world. But sure, they will definitely be a cool thingy also, especially in PvP areas where law and order is diminished :D As much as I understand your desire to be lazy, I am too
so... as the primary means of transportation. see, you did know :) i didnt realise there was no teleportation, i only recall loading screens between areas linked by some tunnel.
I see, Yes no teleporters. I believe the new survival world is not cut up into small zones that need to each load all the zone assets prior to entering it. I think the new engine supports progressive loading of the environment so it is likely to be one big fluid world that you can travel freely in. I can not confirm 100% this is how survival will be, fairly sure it is though. It will be nice to finally be rid of those pain in the arse loading screens between server/zone swap over points.
Agreed, this is the most anoying "feature" of the game atm. I hope it is a world without zones, or maybe just 2 or 3 "continents" instead of how it is now. BTW is saransk down? I got kicked a few hours ago and can't get back in
Aye it went down earlier today. I am not sure if this is due to the discovered PANE exploit today having the skill transfer terminal in Sar or due to the zone being overloaded with people playing with the vehicles the devs put out to have fun in. Even though it was very busy in Sar today it seemed to run a lot more smoothly than the last time vehicles were out with a lot less people around back then. I am as in the dark on this as the next person. I think your referring to the Metro system ? The broken down train station with teleporter that links QA1 <> Sar <> TL1. The red link in the picture below. When you use the metro, only living organic matter is transported + underwear, pda & wallets. All your other inventory is stored in the metro station that your departing from. All avatar inventory can only be transported between zones by foot at present; And vehicles later for weight exceeding what you can carry on foot. So no teleporters in the Entropia sense of teleporters, at this time :)

Of course your also welcome to contribute your own ideas for future development & suggestions for improvement. One of the points the devs are working towards is to create an environment & economy with infrastructure that the participants are asking for. AfterWorld is now the main game i play :p I've not logged into EU since the day i started to play AW. Most of the graphics are bad (Tho Survival is coming), but some of the mobs are actully alot better than those in EU (even with Cry) I can't recommend the game enough, most of the player-base are awesome and very helpful, tho you will notice rather quickly that a certain soc seems to have a good load of idiots ;) Many members from EU are regulars in AW now, even some whom have 300k+ skills in EU .. Good to hear your enjoying AW Sevvy, Yes I notice a lot of the higher end players have started playing AW. The community is coming along nicely in development. As far as the trouble-makers go, you find them in all games; Just ignore them mate, they will find their place in time :D We all skill up one day
Ive been trying it out a little bit but seem to be having ALOT of connection issues. I thought it was just because I was playing it at the same time as EU (on a second screen) but I tried just AW tonight and had the same issues. I can play anywhere from 10seconds to 5minutes before the connection lost icon pops up. Sometimes its only for 5-10 seconds and other times it closes the client down. Any ideas on an easy fix for this? Im on a satalite connection in alaska so while my speeds are ok, there is a problem with latency and upload speeds. thanks for any help, narfi
Hi Narfi, Satelite is always tough to cater for. The current hardware we are all playing on atm is not the final hardware, it is the alpha test bed hardware (pre-release servers) Unfortunately all I can suggest is either to go landline where your latency & jitter will be much lower, or to wait for the new Survival which runs on the Torque 3D engine and newly built server hardware platform. I know it isn't much help for now I am afraid, your likely to suffer many green box connection issues when playing on wireless/sat based links with AW Alpha world. Maybe post this question on AWF - www.afterworldforum.com Someone there with a similar setup to you may be able to help more.
