Dialogue
Economics Guide:' "Hello <name>,
I’m one of the non-military personnel that came along with Fleet Arkadia, and I’m here to teach you about the economics of Planet Arkadia.
We operate here with what we call a Real Cash Economy.
This means that almost every item in the game has a real life monetary value!
It’s called the item’s Trade Terminal value, and it’s measured in a virtual currency call the PED (Project Entropia Dollar).
The official exchange rate is: 1 US Dollar gets you 10 PED.< br />
10 PED gets you 1 US Dollar.
Note that a small transaction fee applies depending on the method chosen to deposit or withdraw.
See how it goes both ways? You can deposit money AND withdraw it, so everything in-world has a real-world value!"
Answer: "Wow. Tell me more!"
Economics Guide:' "This means you can deposit money from your real life bank account into Planet Arkadia which is immediately credited to your PED Card.
You can use this currency to buy equipment and other assets, go treasure Hunting, mining, hunting, loot a myriad of different items, trade with other players and even be a virtual entrepreneur!
If you have enough PED and would like to withdraw them you can convert PED back into US Dollars and have them credited back into your real life bank account at any time.
So if you go Treasure Hunting, and find some Treasure, its really worth something! What would you like to learn more about?"
Answer 1: "How do I find out how much something is worth?!"
Answer 2: "How do I deposit and withdraw funds to and from real life?!"
Answer 3: "How do I deposit and withdraw funds to and from real life?!"
Objective: Learn about the value of items
Economics Guide:' "If you right-click an item (your PED card in your Inventory, for example), you can select "Item Info". Try it!
In the window that appears, there are three blue buttons in the bottom left. Click each of them to display Basic Information, Detailed Information and an Item Description.
The item’s Trade Terminal value is listed in the Basic Information section. This is the amount, in PED, that you would get if you sold the item to one of the many Trade Terminals you can find all over Planet Arkadia.
But be careful! Most items also have a Market Value. That’s the amount above the Trade Terminal value, which other players might be prepared to pay for the item.
Before you sell something to the Trade Terminal, consider first trading it with another player. If the item has a purple button in the bottom right that says “Market Value” when you hover over it, then you can click that button for detailed Market Value information.
For more information about Market Value, see the Guides section of www. planetarkadia.com."
Answer: "Ok "
Objective: Learn about transfering funds
Economics Guide:' "At the top of your screen you should see a row of buttons, one of which says “EU Transfer Centre” if you hover over it.
If you click it, the interface that appears gives you the available deposit and withdrawal options. The prompts in there will give you further information about setting your details up at the website where necessary.
When a deposit is complete, the funds should be immediately available on your PED card."
Answer: "Ok "
